Went there once again for a burger, and I will say that their burgers are very good, they are half pound burgers, which is a little larger than what I need, but that's what they are, but the thing that makes the food, the burgers over the top are the buns. I don't know if these things are homemade, or what they are, but they are fluffy and they are absolutely excellent. The service, this was a one-man show on the floor. This bartender, waiter, convenience store clerk owned the floor, service was impeccable, and he was a very friendly and pleasant individual. The gentleman was waiting on everybody in the bar, and anyone who came into the convenience store side. The atmosphere, I love it, I'm a simple guy. The convenience store side is a little chaotic, it's not dirty, it's just a little chaotic. The bar side is classic. It's a great experience if this is what you're looking for. To top it off, when I walked out into the parking lot to leave there was a convertible Porsche going by with two guys in it, and they slammed on the brakes and pulled in, hopped out of their car and walked in. They said that was the first time there and we all had a laugh about their approach, and I'm assuming they've heard how good the food is...
Read moreI was so excited to visit South Riley as I hadn't been here since I was a kid 30 years ago. The food was great! The portions are big! My daughter said they were the best wings she has had. Unfortunately the service wasn't as good. The waitress was one of the rudest uptight women I have ever dealt with at a restaurant. We thought it was one of those places where they get paid to be mean. When someone orders something that you do not serve, simply say I'm sorry we don't serve that. Maybe she was just having a bad day and chose to take it out on customers. Also because the servings are so big the cook came out and asked if we were having anyone else join the four of us. When my daughter said no, he said we ordered too much food and should take off one of the apps. We told him we were fine with it we wanted to try it and take home leftovers. He insisted that we not have the two appetizers and took off our loaded fries. I just thought that was really strange.... He was very nice. With that being said we still tipped the waitress 30%. When we looked back we learned she does actually know how to smile. Too bad she couldn't have been nicer to us and the two young girls...
Read moreWhat a hidden gem. I'm from Grand rapids & was looking at a truck down the road which was the worse experience, but I was like let's find some good food in this tiny town.
Google search showed this was right down the road. Was a little confused when I walked in as you see just the store but saw the bar and a few people at it.
It's a very small eating area so if it was busy with the corona you may have to wait.
I was told by the patrons the burgers are the best here.
Decided to get the pizza burger. Had a little wait as there was only one cook & a ton of to go orders .
Bar tender/ owner is on top of it even with jumping from table to table & back to the grocery.
They burger was amazing. Just did minus mayo. Was shocked how amazing pizza sauce, ham, pepperoni, lettuce & tomato would be on a burger.
Only down side in my opinion..... Michigan State fans... Ha... But for real only down side is no fountain pops and minimal beers on tap. But huge selection of bottles and pop since the grocery is attached.
Prices are really good.
I plan on making the hour plus drive every...
