Best. French Dip. Ever! And I hold a high bar for my French dip with Au Jus. So good! Not too squishy, but the bread wasn't too hard either, it was just right, and the sauce is very flavorful! I also got a baked potato, which they cover in oil and roll in salt before baking and the flavor definitely makes it evident that it was cooked in a special manner. It had fresh ingredients and green onions to top it off and it was one of the best baked potatoes I've had, and I'm native to Idaho so, my bar for any cut or style of potatoe dish is on a whole different level! (iykyk 🤣)
My mom wasn't a fan of their fry sauce, but everyone makes fry sauce differently. She said they dressed it up with too many spices, but it was a minor thing in comparison to all of the other sides we ate!
When we took our first bite of our sandwiches, we let out a simultaneous, drawn out "mmmmmm" sound because it was so delicious. We even giggled and talked the rest of the time, which made it a good bonding experience for a mother and daughter.
Plus our waitress was kind and was above and beyond accommodating! (Needless to say, we gave her a nice tip! 😊 She was so nice and sweet to us!)
When I asked about a menu item I had seen online, but didn't see on the in-store menu, she told us that they took that off the menu recently. She also went so far as to go to the kitchen, even though we said 'no worries', to see if they had any ingredients left to make that dessert. She also said she was going to call their website manager to make sure that item was taken down immediately so that no one else was disappointed to not get to try it.
For reference, the item they no longer have was an apple cinnamon crisp dessert with a scoop of ice cream on top, which they don't have anymore, but they have the same dessert in an assortment of berry flavors. Berry desserts aren't really my thing, or I DEFINITELY would have ordered one! So if you see any reviews for the apple crisp, sadly, from my understanding of what we were told, it wasn't selling as well as the berry flavors in the summer, so they removed it. 🙁 But oh well! Everything we tried was delicious anyways!
The whole restaurant was beautifully decorated, in an camping lodge style. The atmosphere was just right for the type of restaurant in a campground/RV resort kind of way. I never did ask the story behind it, but each table had a nameplate on the edge of it. Ours was "Charlie". I don't know the significance of that, but it was actually kind of...
Read moreWe came here on New Year's Eve and there was a party of 16 of us! I had the Salmon, my husband had a burger, my kids had the Chicken strips. The salmon and rice was out of this world delicious! My husband said the burger was so yummy!
The service was Stellar! She was prompt and super friendy. Our drinks were always full and all our orders were correct and bill was split perfectly. She really made our dinner enjoyable . I had the mule with Jalapenos to drink!! This drink was SO good!! The entire establishment was decorated so cute and it was a REALLY clean restaurant!
As a server my friendly input would be; The host just stood in one spot when she could have helped the server carry out drinks at any time. This would have improved wait time. I just think that there's always something to do...it was a slow evening.
The fries no one cared for, however the fry sauce was amazing!!!
Also my sister in law ordered Grandma's Sundays Roast. She said the dish was so good! She was a little disappointed and we were all surprised that it didn't come with gravy or did she have the option to order gravy because they had none in-house.
All in all this is a great great place and the drive makes this gem an even better place to visit! We...
Read moreI'm sorry, the food is just not good, it has been completely underwhelming the two times I have been there. Everything can be described as "bland". Today I had the black and blue burger, how a burger that is blackened and topped with blue cheese and candied bacon could be so devoid of flavor was mind boggling. The giant bun was beyond dry and all I could taste was salt. The only saving grace was that the fries are pretty good.
The wait for your food is quite long but the servers were all friendly and attentive.
The "atmosphere" isn't great, there were not very many people there but the dining area is so large and open that all sounds echo to the point where you can't hear the person across from you talking at a normal level. Then oddly, there is lighting above the rotating ceiling fans that cause a strobe effect on the table that is comically obnoxious.
It's a fairly new place so maybe the food will improve but currently it's not a place I look forward...
