I went in and asked for pork rib tips you know with some fat on it and some gristle in it😋😋🤤🤤, sit and wait about 10-15 minutes. They bring me out my order it's to go. I get back over to Indiana. Decide. I'm going to eat some. I opened it up. The meat is really dark brown and dry 🤢. Pork should not be dark brown or dry. It should be pink in the middle little red on the outside (smoke rings) towards the skin but it was definitely not pork rib tips😱😭. And only 2 small pieces of fat in it.I called them and asked them about it. They said they didn't serve beef. What's beef brisket? It's on your menu. What's your hamburgers made out of? It's on your menu Two small pieces of fat. No gristle at all, and it tastes like old brisket that had been overcooked I threw that meat away. Potato salad had really good flavor, but again with the over cooked thing, potatoes are way overcooked. It was more like mashed potato salad, macaroni and cheese delicious😋🤤. If somebody ask you for a product, if you don't have it that's fine. I could've picked something else that I wanted. Not something that you wanted to get rid of. Brisket should NEVER taste like that. I also ordered purchased a quart of the bully BBQ that was supposed to have been sweet bourbon. I get home and look at the label on it and it says spicy sweet bourbon with no expiration,WILL NOT USE. Would have been really nice to get what I ordered. Pork rib tips and sweet bourbon BBQ sauce Disappointed 😔 for the first visit. Unlikely...
Read moreAnytime I go to a BBQ joint for the first time, I always try the pork ribs, it seems to be the true test of any BBQ joint. Their ribs were good, not great, but good. And yes Bully's is a joint, and I mean that in the best way possible!!
The ribs were moist and tender, but a bit too tender for my taste. I like to be able to pick up a rib and eat the meat off the bone. That you can't do with these. Pull on these bones and they come away cleanly from the meat. They appear to have been either parboiled or pressure cooked prior to being tossed on the smoker. Not as much smoke flavor as I would have liked either but there was the subtle taste of a good rub mixture on the meat.
There were three sauces to select from, all tasty, but again, a great rib really doesn't need a sauce so I found myself sampling all them again and again!! The plate came with two sides. I had the potato salad and coleslaw both being a nice addition to my meal.
The meal is served in the standard lunch tray style styrofoam box, which is a good thing as you will most likely need a "To Box" anyway. So much food for the a very, very inexpensive price of $7.00 plus tax.
If you haven't been to Bully's BBQ, you should go. Given the quality, quantity and price it's worth the trip. I'll be back to sample more of their...
Read moreAbsolute garbage! This place is a disgrace to bbq and all southern food. Just ick. The fries are THE WORST-they taste fried two days ago and then microwaved. The brisket is super dry, the pulled pork is bland, and the pulled chicken is basic. Husband got a turkey leg and it was so overcooked it tasted like it was left on the grill since last thanksgiving. Don't even bother with the sides. Pass on the fried pickles if you actually like them because these leave a bad taste in your mouth (like they were fried in rancid oil). Fried tomatoes are ok for flavor but the batter is so hard it will crack a tooth. Even the sweet tea tasted like the water they used was direct from the Ohio River, mud and all, and left a terrible aftertaste. Their sauces are terrible, but we were thankful to at least have the traditional bbq sauce as tolerable. They take a long time to cook the food but it's not worth the wait. The tables, floors, and table condiments are dirty and sticky. No service here-just order food at the counter, give them your money, and they never come to check on you to see if you need anything. This place is a hard pass and we will...
