I wish I could give this place 5 stars but I really can’t. I had a mediocre/bad experience my first time here and so today I wanted to give it a second chance to which I was even more disappointed. If you’re non-Mexican or don’t speak any Spanish I think you should fully avoid the place. Everytime I order, I order it in their language and each time they take forever to understand me or like a few of them, don’t understand me at all even though im reading word for word what is posted on their menu board. I order a carnitas quesadilla and they seemed confused by it even though it’s on their menu and they say okay. So I wait a while and realize people coming after are getting their food before me so I realized they forgot about me and I had to remind them. The trays just looked thrown in the bag because they were sideways and when I opened it up, it’s not even what I asked for. They gave me Gorditas with boiled pork even though on my receipt it says...
Read moreI decided to order from this restaurant thru doordash. The menu sounded great, so I ordered the chicken mole platter for my hubby and for myself, I ordered the barbacoa platter. My hubby didnt get 1/4 chicken that was supposed to be included but rather he received a small thigh and a wing. The sides were very small. While the mole itself was authentic the portion was way too much mole for the small portion of chicken he received. As far as the barbacoa goes, it was tasty but rather dry and I did not receive the fried plantains I had ordered as 1 of my sides and the side of rice was very small. The tortillas were homemade but they were overheated and tuff. I've been cooking/eating authentic mexican since 1982 and this is the 1st authentic mexican restaurant I have encountered that didnt live up to the hype. Sadly we wasted almost $30 on 2 orders and will not patronize Taqueria 3 Reyes again. Extremely...
Read moreI'm not sure what's up with all the bad reviews about this place, since I kind of just discovered, but I can tell you I was born and raised in Mexico city neighbor state (estado de Mexico) and I know a thing or two when it comes to Mexican stuff, the tacos in my hometown traditionally comes with cilantro and onion, and those with longer onions on the side, here they add cucumber slices as well, the salsas are on the side too, so if you are not into that just mention it since the very beginning so they can avoid those. I usually go for the usual, quick and delicious, so tacos de chorizo, chicken are the ones I've ordered only, but they have a big menu, next time I'm going to try the shrimp cocktail and the elotes, the horchata water is just like the one from hometown, the best I've tried in the DMV, I would bottle it...
