First time here. Was pretty excited to try after the reviews but very very disappointed. Ordered the brisket because the high marks for the bbq. Sandwich was on a generic Thriftway hoagie roll. What meat there was had been microwaved at least once. I think the meat was also generic bbq from the local Thriftway across the street.
9 bucks for a sandwich where a McRib would have earned five stars comparatively is rediculus. My wife wanted hers on regular bread and it seemed to cause some heart ache with the lady serving. Did I say serving? Oops... you have to go to the counter to order. At least they brought it to the table. At least her bread looked better.
Much better off stopping in Rufus at Frostys/ Bob T Bone or even the little store across the street from there. At least thier deli is prettt good and a good value for the money. Avoid this place. Eat either in the Dallas, Biggs or Rufus before you get here if headed East or wait until Hermiston or Umatilla. If headed west eat before or wait 25 mins to eat in Rufus or another 20 mins to get to the Dallas.
I do need to give them some positive credit for the clean place and restrooms so if you gotta go this is a good stop. Didn't even see 1 cricket as was seen in...
Read moreArlington is pretty tiny, so food options are limited. Our party of 6 travelers, ranging in age from 6 to 66, pulled up hungry and eager to have something more filling than the typical road trip fast food chain offerings.
Unfortunately, though our waitress was very polite and nice, she was running the whole place alone. This made service very slow.
Additionally, the food was just average. I hate to say that about any place that tries as hard as Rivers Edge. The restaurant is clean, well lit, and offers a vast menu with options for everyone. The food just wasn't quite what we were looking for. I asked everyone in the group how they felt about it and none were terribly impressed. (I am so sorry!) My husband got pretty sick from his cheese steak.
I truly hope this was a staffing issue and that your experience at Rivers Edge will be better than ours. The waitress seemed great and the man who rushed in and promised her he would get someone else in there to help (the owner, I presume) seemed legitimately invested in making sure the place...
Read moreYou know what? I'm going to give out a very rare 5-star review. We ate here on our way out to Baker City for the first day of our trip, and we liked it so much that we went back as the last stop on the way home (not really by choice, but after other new options failed, we decided to go somewhere we enjoyed once before). I'm sure I could find something wrong with it, but it isn't coming to mind now. I had a sandwich the first time, and a wrap the second time, and both were great. Service was friendly, and we didn't feel unwelcome being from Portland in tiny Arlington (a problem we had elsewhere on this trip). I wish businesses would separate politics from business, but I quickly realized that the politics posted here were very tame as compared to a couple of the towns to the south. I won't overlook Arlington for food when passing...
