I'd put their bags back out for pickup and they wouldn't get them, then they'd call and bother me about not returning them repeatedly.
When I decided to cancel halfway through the plan, I was told that the "special offer" I was being offered was billed in such a way that I wasn't going to get a refund back. They decided the several thousand dollars I had paid up front was all spent in the first months, so even though they promised that "you can cancel at any time" they don't actually refund anything when you do.
Service was cancelled regularly, even though I asked for low carb items I was almost always given high carb ones. Serving sizes were small, one week I counted up the 3 meals plus two snacks and they averaged under 1200 calories a day, while they charged $40 a day for it. The $10 in snacks for the optimal plan was usually less than $1 worth of nuts or a 4 square inch piece of cake. Multiple times I got someone else's order, and while they were fast to collect them and give them to the correct person it took until past noon for them to bring me something for myself.
I can see where the service might work for some people, but it's expensive for average quality food at best. It was supposed to be a convenience, less hassle - but turned out to be the exact opposite. And the surprise that the refund policy was basically a lie was the final straw.
Edit: I see the owner replied. Not shocked by the passive aggressive reply, it matches my interactions with them.
I wasn't "offended". I was frustrated because you'd let the bags build up, then call and ask why I wasn't putting them out. I'd call you back or email you to ask if they were picked up or if someone had taken the packages off my porch, and you wouldn't reply or say "I just have a note to ask, I don't know what's happening" - then call or email me again a few days later asking me to remember to put the bags out...
Then when I cancelled, you took over 6 weeks before you even started processing my refund, the only response I got afterwards was "sorry, I've been out of town". Your person sales called me and tried to get me to renew because they saw my plan was ending, not realizing it was because I had cancelled, and then got snippy with me when I explained why I cancelled. I couldn't get anyone to talk to me about a refund until I threatened to do a credit card charge back, then you offered me back a tiny fraction of my deposit. I also kept the emails, I'm happy to attach them to the review - you freely admit that I cancelled on 2/16 and you didn't even look into my refund until 4/4.
I signed up for 24 weeks of service with the promise that there was no problems cancelling and no contracts. I tried to cancel after 10 weeks. Instead of refunding me half the cost, you offered me less than a quarter. You just flat refused to refund me anything past that. Since you stalled it out for so long, I couldn't even do a charge back. I ended up just using up the rest of the service a few months later since I couldn't get a fair refund.
I think people should know that if they try to use one of your promotions, they can't cancel and expect a...
Read moreAs a single person household, Healthy Meals, Inc. has been a game-changer for me. It lets me enjoy incredible meals that I would never have thought of cooking for myself. The variety is a revelation—I’m not stuck eating the same thing over and over, which is usually the case when cooking for one. And honestly, the cost of buying all the ingredients just for a single meal would be exorbitant, not to mention wasteful.
What I love most is how these meals make me feel. It’s such an underrated form of self-care. The meals don’t feel like restaurant takeout; they taste like they were lovingly prepared by a chef in a home kitchen. There’s a distinct difference—no MSG or heavy flavors, just fresh, thoughtful, and balanced food. You can taste the care in every bite, and that feels like it feeds your body and soul in a way restaurant food just doesn’t.
Beyond the food itself, the convenience is life-changing. It’s not just about saving time on cooking or grocery shopping—it’s the mental freedom you gain. You don’t have to spend energy thinking about what to cook, planning meals, or trying to use up ingredients before they go bad. No more standing in the grocery aisle wondering what you’ll eat this week, or realizing halfway through the day that you forgot to thaw something. The constant mental juggling act of planning ahead and making sure nothing gets wasted is completely gone.
With Healthy Meals, Inc., every decision is already made for you. You get the joy of opening your fridge and knowing there’s something fresh, delicious, and ready to go. That mental clarity, combined with the ease of having snacks and meals already planned, is so much more valuable than it seems on the surface.
If cost is a concern, I’d argue it’s about more than just your grocery bill. It’s about the time you save, the mental load you shed, the variety you get, and the pride you feel knowing you’re doing something good for yourself. It’s an investment in your health, your well-being, and even those intangible things—like the joy of eating exciting meals without the hassle.
For anyone on the fence, I wholeheartedly recommend it. Healthy Meals, Inc. has been one of the best decisions I’ve...
Read moreWe have been using the Family Flex plan for almost four months now. I appreciate this service for so many reasons, not the least of which is waking up each morning to a fully prepared meal waiting for me on the porch. The meals are plentiful enough to feed two adults and two ravenous teenagers, sometimes with enough leftover for a lunch the next day. We get 3-4 meals delivered each week and I appreciate that we can change which days the meals are delivered around our family’s needs.
The quality of the food is very good, and I feel we get a much wider selection of fresh vegetables in our meals than I’m able to get from non-local meal services like Hello Fresh. Plus any meal service where I don’t have to do anything other than heating the meal is a win! The last thing I love is how eco-friendly it is. The meals are delivered in zip-closed, heavy duty, insulated bags with reusable cold packs inside. These are reused to minimize waste. The containers our food are delivered in are aluminum or recyclable plastic, so those go into the recycling when complete as well. There is just so little waste in the packaging.
Some of our favorite meals have been: Bloody Mary Steak w/ Chimichurri Grilled Chicken and Zucchini Carbonara Chicken Salad Pitas Tomato Bisque Soup with Quesadilla Dippers Beef Pho Ham & Broccoli Swiss Bake Pork Tenderloin w/ Polenta & Mushroom Ragout Slow Braised Pork w/ Green Chiles & Mango Salsa
I am grateful to this service for making sure we always have a healthy and delicious meal ready to go after a long day of work and kid activities. We are so lucky to have this solution in...
