New China is located about eight minutes outside of Springfield in the village of Riverton. This Chinese restaurant was recommended by tons of people in the comments of my last Chinese takeout video, so of course I had to add it to my bucket list of trying to find the best Chinese food in Springfield. When I tell you if this rice was perfect, they would have taken the cake. The egg roll was crispy and tasted so fresh—yum yum yum. Then don’t get me started on the orange chicken. Oh my Lord, the orange chicken sauce was so good, I was gagging. This was also one of the cheapest combos we had, coming in at $11.60 after tax. This one might be better than China Star✨. #ChineseFood, #SpringfieldIllinois, #RivertonIL, #ChineseTakeout, #OrangeChicken, #EggRoll, #BestChineseFood, #Foodie, #CheapEats, #FoodReview, #TakeoutReview, #LocalEats, #FoodBucketList #VisitSpringfield #Springfield

Is this the best Chinese food in Springfield? This was my first repeat of the series because I was craving crab Rangoon and y’all dragged me last time for not getting them. So you know I had to spin back to New China in Riverton, about eight minutes outside of Springfield but close enough for me. Last time y’all said I messed up so I was low-key nervous she would remember me. But instead she surprised me and gave me my food for free. Even with our language barrier her gratitude showed through everything. The food was phenomenal. And get this they have a 100 percent rating online with every category from food and drink to customer service rated thumbs up. I see exactly why. I honestly wish I got more of the crab Rangoons but beggars can’t be choosers and I’m not complaining about a free meal. 📍New China 1304A N Seventh St Unit A Riverton IL 62561 United States #springfield #217 #foodreview

I do not think the New China knows the difference between Mongolian Beef, Sa Cha Beef Szechuan Beef or Beef with garlic sauce. I have tried all four in hopes one would be remotely close to the Mongolian Beef I have ordered and eaten at two other places in Springfield. (Hunan Express and Thai Basil)

Mongolian beef is supposed to be primarily beef, green and white onions and garlic in a garlic sauce served over the crispy rice noodles along with steamed white rice.

New China loads up their version with broccoli, green peppers, white onions, mushrooms and snow peas so I cannot tell or taste the difference between the 4 different I have ordered… the only difference seems to be the name listed on the receipt. Will not try anything else there… as I prefer the old China to the New China.

While I do not prefer their offerings, others apparently like it as there seems to be a good amount of take out…. taste is subjective and New China is...

Ordered large vegetable fried rice and two spring rolls to go. Got home the spring rolls were soggy in the middle suggesting they weren't thoroughly cooked. And the vegetable fried rice wasn't even edible because the vegetables I'm not sure even saw heat. They were beyond chewable. Threw everything in the garbage because when I tried to call the number listed on Google for the business it wasn't an active number so you can't even call to voice your experience. I've been ordering for this place for 7 years and it ended...

Been eating here for 13 years and have very rarely had bad food, maybe 3 times out of probably a hundred. Crab Rangoon is excellent, they fry it just long enough to be crispy but not brown and flaky. My fave is definitely General Tsos chicken. Friendly...
