I have no idea why in the world this course has only averaged 3 stars on this site... This is a fun little track that offers a pretty exciting round of golf. I have played this course several times now and even though the course has been mostly victorious during my outings, I have still have a great time. It is not very long (only about 6,000 from the blues), but it forces you to place the ball well from the tee. There are several holes where only a few yards can make the difference between a birdie chance and struggling for a bogey. There is one par 3 that is only 110 yards, but I have yet to birdie this thing because it has a very difficult green and they keep placing the pin on a raised section of the green that is only about 7 yards wide! Every time I hit a shot into this hole, I either miss left or my ball filters down into a low section on the right of the green and I struggle for a 2 putt.
The course itself is well maintained with very nice fairways and greens (the greens are pretty fast). There are also several bunkers on this course that are strategically placed to give the course a nice look and added challenge.
The only thing that I can really see driving this course's rating down a little could be the price. It is not the cheapest place in the world to play, but my though is that you get what you pay for at a place like this... Honestly, it's a little pricey for me at this point (which is why I have only played it a few times this year) but I do enjoy...
Read moreI started taking golf lessons here and have so many positive things to say! The driving range is maintained very well compared to other places I've been. The staff always greeted me with smiles and was very helpful every time I walked in.
When I was out on the course the greens were in tip-top condition. I saw some reviews complaining about the greens and I didn't notice any problems. Even their practice green was in really good condition with a variety of hills and opportunities to practice chipping. They also have special yellow markings on the fairway for new golfers, like me, who aren't quite ready to tee off from 350 yards. It's so nice that such an awesome course is so welcoming and encouraging to individuals new at the sport!
I went to their fairway runner's series last year which was a really cool 5k where you can run on this scenic course. I recommend that of you're into running, too. Afterwards they had a reception for volunteers and runners. Oh my gosh the food was so good! A good variety of salads, sliders, and sweet potato fries! Everything is clean and kept well inside the clubhouse with good items for sale in the pro shop for fair prices.
Also they're home to Special Olympics golfing! How cool!
I will be coming back and highly recommend taking lessons there if you're...
Read morePlayed Pine Trace on 4/11/15 this year. Beautiful course but pace of play was completely unacceptable. Our tee time was scheduled for 9:50am, we didn't end up teeing off until 10:15am as they were already backed up. Every tee box we came up to, the group in front of us was just teeing off. We waited about 5-8 mins at every hole, just for the other group to take their second shot. This delay was not because of the group in front of us, as they were waiting for another group in front of them. We had to call the club house 3 times during our round to attempt at getting the ranger to speed up the kink somewhere, but it never happened. The only negative I have for the course itself is, they don't have 150 yard poles on the holes, instead they have colored sprinkler heads that you have to really search to find. This is a common proponent to slow play, as the 150 markers help greatly in speeding all groups up. Again, I enjoyed the course but I will NEVER play here again. It was agonizing getting through this round. I hope the management reads this review and fixes this issue, as this course will go to...
