We ate several meals here while staying at the samoset. The staff were GREAT! Folks were pleasant and approachable. There is a bit of a lag with service, so don’t be in a rush if you eat here. We ate lobster, cuz when in Maine, eat lobster. Way over cooked, didn’t taste fresh. I would equate this restaurant to an Applebee’s or Olive Garden. It’s fine. Won’t knock your socks off. Cocktails great. Drinks on the deck, amazing. Breakfasts are also available and also just fine.

Our experience here was quite excellent. We enjoyed great food, drink, and very friendly service in this atmospheric Italian restaurant conveniently located at Samoset Resort in Rockport where we stayed for most of the week. Very much recommended.

Kind waiter, nice view and decent food. I got the fillet and sadly it wasn’t cooked the way I asked. But it was still good.. definitely a pricy menu but seems overall quality and a fancy environment

I can’t speak to the food or drinks as we didn’t stay long enough to find out. We were staying at the Samoset and decided to eat in the lounge. We have eaten here before and had a great experience. The lounge was busy and wait staffed seemed overwhelmed BUT my group felt completely unwelcomed from the moment we walked in. We stood around for several minutes waiting for seating to open up (not a big deal). We had asked about the large table open that was reserved for a wedding party and we understood (again, not a big deal). Once we did sit down it was with dirty dishes still at the coffee table (again, it was busy and initially not a big deal). We waited a few minutes and then decided to order drinks at the bar while we waited. We were told that we couldn’t order directly from the bartender if we were also ordering food as it would take away from the waitress. At this point no waitress even acknowledged that we were there. I saw the bartender flag a waitress to our table and when she came over she seemed so annoyed and looked at us and said “what do you want?”. Our reply was “nothing” and we got up to leave. It was truly one of the worst experiences I’ve had. Most people don’t mind waiting if the staff is friendly or even a little helpful. We at best we’re ignored and treated like...

After having Christmas Dinner for the past 4 yrs at your restaurant and being very pleased with the quality and preparation of the food ..... I was dissatisfied with my dinner this year. We were a table of 5 for a 3pm seating. Our waitress was informative and pleasant. Our entrees came out before our salads. We asked that our entrees be remade .... well that didn’t happen. I had the roast turkey dinner .... which was tepid .... not hot. The dark meat was plated under the white meat and was dry. I ordered tiramisu ...... it was fluff .... no cake, not a lady finger floating anywhere!! If the restaurant was crowded and busy ..... I could understand my dinner being cool .... but there were empty tables everywhere. How can you run out of crabmeat at 3pm? And lastly, the amount of food on our plates was most definitely reduced from last year. My partner had the raviolis and there were three small ones on her plate. Last year she ordered the same dish ... she had 4 very large raviolis .... she couldn’t finish her dinner. She had to take some home in a doggy bag! The best part of my whole dinner was the cappuccino and our waitress..

By the way ..... the decorations in the lobby upstairs were tacky. Previous years were awesome. So ..... what...

I'll start by saying as a local this is a place I've gone many times. Last night I brought some friends there to eat outside and enjoy the view. We asked the waiter and day at an empty unclean table. We waited for 15 minutes before anyone talked to us all the while other people were being seated and served right next to us. Finally someone came to clear the table ( not clean it). Then another 10 minutes went by. I finally went to talk to somebody as it was getting embarrassing. They assured me that someone would be right with us. Another 8 minutes went by. Then someone came and wiped our table with a very wet wipe and left puddles on it! Literally!! A waiter came and wouldn't even put down the menus because it was so wet. Then walked away. After another 8 minutes or so I left. I couldn't even believe what was happening. They weren't overly busy. I'll never go back for their overprice mediocre food and weak drinks again. In fact if ever asked I'll tell people to steal clear of it altogether!! I've never been treated so badly at a restaurant anywhere. The one star is just because you have to. Complete and utter lack of competent management. Don't go here to eat. Any other...
