501 Yacht Club – A Hidden Gem with Sunset Views
Tucked away in a serene gated neighborhood, 501 Yacht Club offers not just a fantastic dining experience, but also breathtaking sunset views over Lake Ray Hubbard. Whether you’re arriving by car or opting for a dock & dine experience, this spot provides the perfect lakeside escape with a welcoming ambiance.
The Highlights:
We kicked off the evening with a deliciously smooth Espresso Martini—a must-try if you’re a fan of bold, rich flavors. For our appetizer, we went with the Deviled Eggs, which were not only visually stunning but also packed a flavorful punch.
The Corn Chowder was creamy and comforting, with just the right balance of sweet corn and savory spices—definitely a great way to warm up for the main event.
For entrees, we chose two excellent dishes: ½ Roasted Chicken over Mashed Potatoes – This dish was pure comfort food at its finest. The chicken was perfectly roasted, juicy, and tender, while the creamy mashed potatoes were a delightful complement. Trout – The trout was beautifully grilled, sitting atop a bed of roasted vegetables. Every bite was fresh and flavorful, making it a perfect choice for seafood lovers.
To wrap up our meal, we enjoyed the Flourless Chocolate Cake. Rich, decadent, and served with fresh berries, it was a heavenly way to end the night.
The Service: Service was impeccable. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, enhancing our overall experience.
The Atmosphere: What truly sets 501 Yacht Club apart is its stunning lakeside location. Watching the sun set over Lake Ray Hubbard while dining made the experience all the more memorable. The combination of upscale food, laid-back ambiance, and gorgeous waterfront views makes this venue ideal for date nights, celebrations, or even a casual evening out.
The Verdict: 501 Yacht Club offers more than just a meal—it’s an experience. With its dock & dine option, impeccable service, and scenic sunset views, it’s a must-visit for anyone in the area. If you’re looking for a spot where you can enjoy high-quality food with a lakeside vibe, this is the...
Read moreWe had dinner last night on Valentine's Day. The price fixe menu offered nice selections, including 4 courses. Our first course was a shared appetizer. We chose Bang Bang Shrimp. The 6 large shrimp were seasoned well without being too spicy. The next course was a choice of various soups and salads. My husband and I both chose the French Onion Soup. It was a full bowl, not a cup, as I expected. It was good, but a little salty for my taste. There were several entree choices, including pasta, chicken, fish, or steak. We both chose steak. It was a New York Strip served with Parmesean Fries. We were disappointed in both. The steak was subpar in quality and was swimming in some kind of sauce. Our steaks were cooked as ordered, but the sauce was too much. I regretted not having chicken or pasta. The fries were overcooked. The final course was dessert. Again, they offered a nice choice of options. We shared the white chocolate bread pudding with walnuts. I can't adequately describe how amazing it was! Served ala mode, and a large portion, it was memorable! Our server was top-notch. Ask for Corbin. He will take good care of you. The hostess, Abby, was very rude and condescending. She was talking down to her coworkers and literally shoved another hostess away from the host stand computer while she was helping us. It was embarrassing. She then proceeded to tell us she needed "her" table back by 6:45 pm. I responded that we have a reservation. She rolled her eyes. The dining room was decorated beautifully. The ambiance was nice. Overall, we had a nice evening out Our check was just short of $200, including tip with no alcohol. At that price point, I expect a better steak than the one we received. We will go again as the restaurant is still young. You should...

We booked the Yacht Club in April of this year for my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary party. I toured the space before booking and the views of the lake are beautiful. We booked the upstairs patio for our event. From the very beginning, we were expecting around 35 guests.
In the weeks leading up to our party, I called Jen Cushman at the Yacht Club, left messages, and sent e-mails that went unanswered. I expressed my concern that we were getting closer to our event date and we had not finalized the menu. Instead of returning these calls or responding to these e-mails, Jen Cushman sent an e-mail to a completely different e-mail address with an “updated” contract that listed the number of guests as 75. This is more than twice the number of guests that we were ever expecting. When I was finally able to get in touch with Jen I told her that we were never expecting 75 guests and requested that the contract be corrected accordingly. She confirmed that the alcohol would be updated for 35 guests but she refused to update the totals for food. This resulted in a massive overcharge for food. Altogether the Yacht Club charged us $7,472.13, which comes to over $213 per person. And we only served heavy hors d'oeuvres. I asked that $1,851.51 be refunded to my credit card to correct the error with the number of guests but so far Jen Cushman has not done so. I am evaluating our next steps with recovering this amount.
This could have been avoided with adequate communication leading up to our event. I would not recommend booking an event with this venue given...
