Decent Mexican food, especially for the area! It's a little higher priced than my typical restaurant and that's why I didn't give it five stars. Plus the margaritas weren't as good. I ordered a lime on the rocks and it tasted mostly like alcohol. Nothing sweet, nothing lime. Another person with us ordered a frozen banana margarita and it wasn't even frozen, it was soupy and again - straight alcohol. Some people love that, I'm not one of them. I would prefer my beverage taste good vs. taste like I'm drinking rubbing alcohol from a bottle. The restaurant was small and you were packed in. The server wasn't very attentive, we had to wait without water/drinks for quite awhile before I flagged him down to get refills. The food was...
Read moreIt's a dive with a bitchy owner. I travel nationwide and have eaten bad and good Mexican in 40 different states. Leave it to locals who only eaten at Taco Bell and Taco John's their whole life to think this place is SO tasty. Over priced for what's on the plate. Small burrito with over cooked carne, really wet brown beans (not black) and Uncle Ben's "Spanish rice" all for only $10 bucks. What a steal (for the owners that is). Tacky, Mexican wha-na-be decor. Think of any fake Chinese buffet you've ever visited (now you get the picture). Drive to Fort Dodge or West to Sioux City, trust me your stomach...
Read moreAtmosphere was decent, food was served rather quickly as we were one of two tables occupied at the time. The beans were super runny and my lettuce was brown. The chimichanga I had was loaded pretty full of some reasonably tender beef but the sauce was just kinda meh, almost as if it were canned. The floors of the place were greasy and I was slipping all over the place. I've had better and I've had worse. I'd probably give them another try, they are the only Mexican restaurant in a 20 mile radius so it fills that craving better than a frozen burrito. If you can, drive to Fort Dodge and try La...
