The food was quite overpriced and inedible, but what was worse was the customer service. Every time I've visited this restaurant with my family, the owner has been rude. Literally without exception I've heard of this happening to others as well unfortunately. This last time was without doubt the worst from the moment she answered the phone to take my order to everything that followed. I was given only half of the meal that I ordered. When I called to ask if I left half of my meal there, she very rudely blame the situation on me and said I never ordered the meal. I told her that I understand that there was a misunderstanding and that's not a big deal (she continued placing blame on me not even willing to conciede that it could have been a misunderstanding) however, I was more disappointed because the food we did receive had an inedible amount of salt. None of my family could eat it. We ended up throwing it away, I asked if we could bring it back for a replacement and she said absolutely not. She spoke over me, and raised her voice at me. The whole time she was incredibly rude and would not allow me to speak because she was talking over me. I turned the phone on speakerphone to allow my husband to hear because I literally could not believe this was real life. She eventually hung up the phone on me and I didn't even get more than a couple words in. To me, it was very clear that she knew something was wrong with the dish before I even called because she was on the defense and seemed to know more about the situation than I did. She also told me that she didn't even want to make me this special meal and that she only did it to be polite. I thought this was strange because they offer this meal on the menu. It was literally chicken and vegetables with white sauce? I don't know how she was doing us any favors? Very strange. Additionally, the corn that we got in our meal looked rotten. When I questioned her about it being offered on the menu, she awkwardly said yes and then continue to shout over me. I was hesitant to come back in to order tonight but really wanted to have a good experience because we love Chinese food, but after tonight I can guarantee that my family and I will never be back or suggest this restaurant to anyone else. I think it goes without saying, but it's generally bad business to sell an inedible meal and refuse to rectify the matter to save a couple bucks. It's also bad business to shout at a customer who's speaking to you...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food is somewhat okay if you go when thereās a lot of people there. If not, expect food that has been sitting all day. Today, the food was somewhat decent. The problem is we were told the price was going to be $31 for 2 buffets and 2 waters. We even confirmed it was for no drinks included because she still handed us cups. She said we were being charged $31 for the buffet. So when I got home and saw that my card was charged $37.20, I was shocked. I attempted calling before leaving this review to see if there was some kind of mistake that could be fixed, but no. She kept insisting we were charged $31 even though I was looking directly at my bank statement and seeing the charge with my own eyes. So I will be filing a dispute with my bank because this is stealing. Also, this is a small buffet place so I would expect the food to at least taste like they care. When they first came to Rockwood, they were amazing. Decently priced, food was great, nice people, etc. They have went downhill drastically over the years and itās a shame. Either way, Iām getting our money back. Theyāre not going to steal from our family. Times are already hard enough as it is for them to be not only charging a ridiculous amount of money, but stealing money as well? You should be ashamed of yourself. And then not to mention, them trying to tell my husband how much food heās allowed to eat at an ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET. Definitely wonāt be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNice little hidden gem! My husband and I were in the area with our grand-niece picking something up, and decided to stop to eat before we made our way back home. The place is small and there isn't a huge selection (one hot bar, one cold, some condiments and silverware, and an ice cream freezer) BUT what they have is truly very tasty and seems to be prepared with care. I enjoyed items I typically pass up at most buffets because I've learned they just won't impress me. However, this place hit on every dish. Spring rolls - divine! Lo mein - could eat piles of it. General Tso's chicken - sweet and spicy, perfectly balanced. Crab Rangoon - creamy, fresh, yummy. Something I really enjoyed about the ice cream is that it's not frozen rock hard like your usually find at buffets. It was easily scoopable and they had a great variety. I'm happy we stopped in and we left feeling good...
