My husband and I have been going to tamarack for more then 4 years now. We have almost always had amazing service, until the past few months. Last night we ordered a sample appetizer, a bacon cheese burger with waffle fries and green chile, and a sourdough bacon cheese burger with a sub of pepper jack cheese and add grilled onion and grilled mushrooms with waffle fries. The sourdough burger was to go order. Yes, they were busy. The server brought my burger and slammed it on the table. And stormed off. It took close to 10 minutes just to get the attention of someone to ask for napkins and mayo because we were only give 1 napkin and our server was nowhere to be found. So 30 minutes after my food was served our server comes back to bring my husband his to go order and to refill our drinks. We look in his order, its a sourdough bacon burger with a yellow cheese no onion no mushrooms no waffle fries. We send it back. It comes back with pepper jack cheese, raw onion raw mushrooms, no waffle fries. We talk to Carol (the owner) to send it back a 3rd time and she says "it's hard to do orders that are not on the menu." The burger was brought back with half cooked mushrooms, and onions and again no waffle fries. Completely frustrated we just went ahead and paid for the order and chalked it up to them havin a bad, busy, rough night. Tonight we decided to go ahead and order 2 of the specials "prime rib" to go, so not to stress them out. My husband goes and picks up the order which was 2 specials prime rib cooked rare. Not really hard to mess up. Well spoke too soon. My husband brings it home and we find out the prime rib was not cooked rare but actually well done. So he called them and asked to speak to the manager. He ended up speaking with Carol (the owner) yet again. She told him that they can only make the steaks so rare and he needed to bring them back. Upon arrival she took the steaks to the kitchen, returned to speak with my husband because they were now out of prime rib. She then proceeded to give him a refund and then told him that he was being difficult. He then said if I spend $100.00 in 2 days on food I expect to get what I ordered not to mention at least some decent service. AND with that he left came home no steaks and completely pissed off because seriously you are gonna say we are the problem when your cook made it wrong. Tamarack Grill we have had some amazing times and I am not sure what has warrented such a bad attitude to your loyal customers but I am sadden and heart broken to say that we will not be returning at least for a very long time. I have never in my life had a manager, or owner tell me that I am the one being difficult when it was your cook who made the order wrong 3 times in a row the 1st night and then to follow up again with making the order wrong again the next night. I do not wish for you to close. Nor do I wish any ill will. All I wish is that you realize with that type of attitude from you and your servers and your cook, you will continue to lose...
ย ย ย Read moreTamarack Grill is usually a decent place to go and get a good meal with good service, tonight that was not the case. Service was slow, the waitress must have waited to put in our order, we sat down around 7:10 and we didn't receive our order until 7:40. We had two kids chicken stripe meals and two orders of the special which was half a chicken fried steak with French fries and my order with the full chicken fried steak with waffle fries and the soup of the day. Needless to say I never got my soup while a customer that came in 15 minutes after us ordered the special with the soup and received it right away. It still shouldn't have taken 30 minutes to receive our order. The food was great the service well it sucked tonight if the waitress wasn't trying to strut her stuff around the three men that came in after us maybe just maybe she would have remembered the five people in the middle of the room. As long as this waitress is still there when I do come in I will request for a different one. She doesn't pay attention...
ย ย ย Read moreI've been here a few times and it seems to be hit or miss every time. It lacks consistency. Sometimes the food is great and other times it is not. The homemade pie is always good, and the Banana Cream is made with real bananas, not the fake stuff you find at VI or Perkins. Last time the music was way too loud and everyone claimed they could not turn it down-- makes it difficult to have a conversation with those who are hard of hearing. It's still a great place to stop for a bite to eat when you are in Fowler.
Edited-- I came in from Missouri last week and met the family there for lunch. The food was much better than the time before, back to the quality that we have enjoyed for years. I am raising my rating to 5 stars instead of 4 because of the food, and because someone actually turned the music down when we requested it so my elderly dad could...
