This is a rustic and trendy restaurant located in Rocky Hill. One thing we noticed upon entering was that the tables were too close together. It's like everyone is sitting right on top of each other so there isn't much privacy while dining. When we received our menu the one thing we noticed is that there wasn't much of an appetizer selection. They can use a couple more additions to the menu. We ended up ordering the octopus and the roasted beet salad with watercress, candied pecans, and goat cheese. The octopus was very good, but the roasted beet salad wasn't good at all. First off the salad didn't have any dressing so pretty much it was like you were eating dry watercress. The goat cheese was crumbled, and it would of been better if they gave you a nice piece of it on the top instead of crumbling it over the salad. Either way a salad without dressing isn't good period! For entrees we ordered the lamb chops and the strip steak which came with house cut fries. We also ordered a side of Mac and cheese. The lamb chops was by far the best dish of the night! It was OUTSTANDING! They were high quality double cut lamb chops seasoned and cooked to perfection! They were so good that was I was talking about how good they were for the rest of the night! For steaks they use Pat La Frieda meats which is considered a high quality place to get meats from. I find Pat La Frieda not to have good steaks. I have eaten them on multiple occasions, and I have found them to lack tenderness. Pat La Frieda steaks are much too dry like and thick, and like I said lacks any tenderness. A better option for this restaurant is to get their steak from Allen Brothers. Allen Brothers by far carries much better steaks than Pat La Frieda. The strip steak was seasoned good, but the quality of the steak really wasn't good. The fries were ok. We found them much too thin for our liking. The Mac and cheese side was so good! I'm so glad we ordered it as a side! For desserts we had the warm chocolate chip cookie topped with vanilla ice cream and the coconut cake with cream cheese icing. The warm chocolate chip cookie was so good! It would of been even better if it was made a little bit thicker, and not as thin. The coconut cake came with most delicious cream cheese frosting ever, but the actual cake was too dry. The cake needed to be more moist, and it would have been the best dessert! The neighboring table was telling us that they felt the cake was too dry as well, but loved the frosting! Overall, we enjoyed most of everything we had here. I wouldn't recommend ordering a salad as an appetizer here though for sure! I recommend dining at ONE 53 in Rocky Hill!

We came to one 53 because we live in the area and we wanted to try this restaurant for quite sometime. Google also had good reviews. The ambience is really cool. Reservation is highly recommended. The bar area is pretty nice. My husband got a Jameson and I got the Paper place. Aperol is my current favorite. Drinks were great! They also have huge wine list. We skipped the appetizer as the menu mostly had vegetarian or sea foodish apps. My husband does not eat sea food and since we would share the appetizer so we skipped it entirely. Some meat options in pork or beef or chicken would have been nice for the starter section. For mains hubs got the burger with hand cut fries and I got the arctic char with couscous. The burger was fine but my arctic char lacked seasoning. The server mentioned a bunch of specials but all of them seemed extremely pricey compared to their regular menu. Anyway since it was my husband’s bday they gave us a couple of complimentary cookies which was a nice gesture . THANK YOU! Btw, they also served bread in the beginning but it came with some kind of bean dip ( I think fava beans) which was a very odd combination. Did not like it at all !! Some plain butter would have been nice. I like bean dips but usually with a flat bread or pita bread… Overall not fully satisfied by the experience… for that price point , I was expecting more.

Intimate upscale restaurant with a very interesting and diverse menu. Nightly specials add to the diversity. You can get a steak or a burger; mussels or swordfish. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable. On our most recent visit, my wife had the grilled swordfish while I opted for the Mahi Mahi. Both were accompanied by the One 53 signature Fries that are skinny and super crispy (see photo). I started off with a Spinach Salad that was wonderful. The bar is a major player at One 53 with signature cocktails and a very extensive wine. I found a French white that I liked so much I will buy for my home wine frig. Parking is a challenge in Rocky Hill, but the restaurant has a valet parking service.

We frequent One53 often, and it never disappoints! Their cocktails alone are worth the visit — the One53 Signature Cocktail, Lavender Mar-Teani and Watermelon Margarita are absolute standouts, perfectly balanced and always beautifully presented. Craig, the bartender, is hands down the best in the Princeton area. His creativity and attention to detail make every drink special, and his seasonal cocktail specials are something I look forward to with every visit.

The food is equally fantastic. The Nueske’s bacon with blue cheese is an indulgent must-have for my husband. We also love the mussels in tomato white wine broth — comforting, flavorful, and perfect for sharing. And don’t forget to dunk the delicious bread in the sauce while eating it! Even their house salad is a standout, with fresh ingredients topped with toasted hazelnuts, yum!

Every time we visit we try something different for our main meal or a special and it is always so flavorful and delicious! For entrées, the mouthwatering Pat LaFrieda steaks are always cooked to perfection, and their fresh fish and seafood specials are consistently delicious and beautifully prepared. It’s a menu that truly has something for everyone.

And do yourself a favor — save room for dessert. The Grilled Pound Cake Ice Cream Sandwich, Almond Joy, and Chocolate Bread Pudding are all divine, each one the perfect sweet ending to a great meal.

It’s the kind of place where you feel welcomed, well-fed, and leave already planning your next visit. Highly recommend! It’s our...

First of all the service was amazing. from the waiter to valet 10/10 all around.

The food was a bit lack luster and was very hit or miss. We ordered the Mushroom Crustini. I enjoyed it, despite not liking the hot peppers. i thought the texture and the dish was balence and only needed a touch of salt, which i did and it was great. The Rossini burger was a burger my wife was excited about but we was rather dissapointing. The Foie Gras missed the mark and felt like a gimmick to increase the burgers price. It added grease and no texture to the burger. The burger itself is juicy and the flavor just really did not work. The burger if needing anything could have used a crunch. The greens that came with the burger had a lovely dressing, mushrooms were okay again it didnt feel like it brought anything to the burgers. Fries were simply seasoned beautiful. The Mac and Cheese was rather dissapointing as the breadcrombs on the top held most of the flavor. once you got past that, it was very lack luster. Our drinks were delicious. When we were seated we were provided with bread. The bread has a spread that to this day i cant figure out. It did not have the taste of butter but it did have the texture. I personally thought it was a type of chikpea but not quite hummus. This to had no flavor. all in all it wasnt a bad dinning experience, I personally felt for the price and the quality it was...
