Highly Recommend - Great BBQ and Affordable

Our family was on a road trip from DC to Kinston, looking for some authentic North Carolina BBQ, and we stumbled upon this spot. Initially, we went to the address listed on Google (700 Myrtle), but it turned out to be an abandoned building. After calling the number, we learned they had moved to 1716 Benvenue Rd, Rocky Mount, NC 27804, right by the O'Reilly Auto Parts store.

The extra six-minute drive was worth it. We arrived at a food truck with no seating, so we ate in the car. We ordered the sliders, pork chop, and baby back ribs. Every bite was a treat—the meats were incredibly tender, falling off the bone (especially the chops and ribs). The mac and cheese tasted homemade and was solid, and the baked beans were sweet and flavorful. The only thing that didn't hit the mark was the lemonade, which tasted like an overly sweet mix.

Despite that small hiccup, we left stuffed and happy. All of us agreed that the food was excellent....

Smoking Backyard BBQ & Grill Catering is absolutely delicious and the perfect spot for any event! We recently used them for a large family gathering, and they completely knocked it out of the park. The brisket was tender, the pulled pork was smoky perfection, and their signature sides were incredible—seriously, try the mac and cheese.

The team was incredibly friendly and professional from the initial booking to the day-of service, making the entire process stress-free. If you want high-quality, authentic BBQ that will have all your guests raving, look no further than this charming crew. Five stars for fantastic food...

If it's not the best BBQ I've ever had, it is darned closs. Brisket sliders were fabulous, juicy with crispy tips. The ribs were absolutely perfect. Fall-off tender but not overly cooked, kept all the flavor and moisture. Sides were excellent - especially the ranch potatoes. We had a ton of great food for a fair price (an exceeding rarity these days). Anytime we are remotely close to the Rocky Mount area we'll be on the hunt for Smoking...
