Kortman's Restaurant — Restaurant in Rogers City

On the road looking for a good place for breakfast. Out of the corner of my eyes spotted all these cars parked all around the restaurant. Said to myself that's the place I want to go. Let me tell you what a wonderful family restaurant. Coffee ☕ forever flowing. I had 2x2 , which consists of two meats and two eggs with toast I ordered a side of hash brown. My scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection without even me asking them for that way. Cuz nobody can do them the way I like them. The sausage links were the best I have ever eaten . I would believe that they were made locally. Let me tell you about the toast. You think you just going to get two slices of toast. In their eyes you are, but you'll be surprised how thick these are. And it's baked right there daily. Hash browns- there wasn't one complaint form me It wasn't the fancy place but that's not what you're there for. You're there for the home atmosphere and the cooking. There is even communal tables if you like for everybody is friendly there. I'm sure I'll never be back in that direction for I'm on a bucket list trip. But they were one of the highlights of my trip. That's why I'm trying to explain things to you. You want a good homestyle breakfast get your butt over there and eat. My order came to $10 and change. I gave the waitress $15 very happily. The two women there we're working their butts off. With a smile on your face and the coffee pot in hand. A cheerful note was said throughout my visit. Tip these women they work for it. 1st of all this I say this this is my 1st time ever eating this place. My friend surprised me and said stop here let's get something to eat I'm buying I didn't even want to go in because I was wearing sweats and and was not even shaved or was not planning going out to eat or going out in public. So the lady who was 80 years old she ordered coffee she said it tasted like dish soap soap so she sent it back and got hot Coco. We all ordered the Levering onions dinner. My liver was bloody and the onions were still white they were not soft they were still hard and they were not even caramelized so my meal was not even cooked all the way and everyone else's onions was the same. So when it can't time to check out the old lady only had a debit CA Democrat which they did not take debit only cash so the waitress who do the excellent job shoulder over to the ATM machine which the lady did not know how to use so so she showed her how to use the old lady was expecting that she was paying for the mill through the ATM machine But it did not so she only took out $20. And was given the waitress a $10 tip because she was a student in college. So she thought she paid for the bill and the waitress said no you did not pay you just gave me a $10 tip and she said oh I paid with the machine so that you did not. So my father end up paying for the dinner. By the way the place was cold I was wearing sweats and still wore my Winter jacket inside the restaurant and my legs was even cold. Traveling and new to the area. Their parking lot is full all the time for good reason. They bake their bread every morning and likewise their excellent pies. The bacon and the pork loin is from Plath's an in town smoke house which ships nationally. Their hamburger sourced locally is we'll know in the North East Lower Peninsula was excellent and never frozen, if I'm any judge. The skillets are terrific as was everything we four of us had.
