Food is good as expected at a home town cafe nothing spectacular about it. I've eaten here through out the past ten years a few times a year. The carmel rolls are dry I've tried them three times and never again. I'm not much of a coffee drinker and I found the coffee to be very weak, more like colored hot water. It is need of a remodeling it is showing its age the booths seats have rips in them. There was a cook who came out of the kitchen and he wasn't wearing a hair net and his apron was so filthy that I was turned off from finishing my food. I once found plastic in my mashed potatoes. Went in for breakfast and had such a great experience! The server was absolutely amazing and the food was top-notch. I ordered the breakfast combo, and everything was on point—the omelette was so light and fluffy, and the homemade sausage gravy was outrageous. My wife ordered the stack of pancakes, which were perfectly fluffy and buttery. They even came with little butter balls, lmao! A fun detail—scooped perfectly round with a melon baller—that added an extra touch to an already amazing setup. A few decades ago everything was homemade and today, everything is STILL homemade. One of the last gems of a true diner experience. I rarely order just a cheeseburger when I go out but the burgers at North 40 have something about them that hands down makes it one of the best out there. Many dishes will come looking well beyond your expectations from what I’ve seen that others with me have ordered. Order the cordon blue sometime to see what I mean because it’s absolutely a Chef worthy made plate.
