Kind of a strange mix of people here, you've got Country guys/girls, preps, and a man with a Mohawk and high heeled spiked boots...not really my kind of place, service wasn't that great, it took 30 minutes for the staff to acknowledge our presence. The cups for beer were tiny👎👎👎 the staff there were nice and friendly, only upside. P.S.If you're any kind of heavy the bathrooms will be an issue, they are the tiniest stalls I have ever seen.

We stop in here every time we ride through the Irish Hills of Southern Michigan. Located on a causeway, perfectly in between Devil’s Lake and Round Lake, the Highland Inn offers the greatest tacos and ice-cold beer, a perfect combination in my book!

Mexican plate 1 was delicious, my husband really liked the Atlantic Cod beer battered. I also enjoyed the fried ice cream

We ordered an appetizer that we NEVER received.. I got the chicken fettuccine Alfredo which was VERY bland with barely any sauce to it. The salad my girlfriend was given had MAYBE 5 pieces of lettuce to it. The rest was nothing but peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, sunflower seeds and bacon bits. We were NEVER asked how anything was or I would have told our waitress that which btw, had NO personality and acted like she didn't even want to be there.. The drinks were the only thing that we actually enjoyed there. We WILL NOT be going back there.. I have never went to a place where the food and service were both that horrible.. The place wasn't even busy when we got there, there were 3 tables that were being used, but YET we had to wait about an hour just for our food.. I can honestly say that is the first time i ever actually did not leave a tip at all for...

Highland Inn is in the process of revamping their entire restaurant from the decor, to the employees, and especially to the food. If you have had bad food or an experience in the past, I highly suggest stopping in again to try it out. They have hired a new Head Chef- Eddie that is completely transforming the food and service quality! In previous years I was abhorred by the quality of the food.. old, too done fries, taco meat that is hard and crusty... since Eddie has started the quality of food has sky rocketed 100% better. Friends in the area have been commenting that its the new best place to go within 30 miles, and has quickly become a favorite for myself and everyone that I know residing in the devils lake/ manitou beach area! Good job guys! Cant wait to see what its going to be like in another year if it keeps getting...

My wife and I won't be returning. The service has always been friendly, but if you're an outsider, good luck getting quality service. The food has always been good, but everything we tried to order, they were out of or are no longer serving even though it's still on the menu. Takes way too long to to be approached by waitstaff after getting seated. The cups are very small, and staff is inconvenienced and too busy to get you refills. We asked for drink refills when we ordered, and ten minutes later a tray of drinks was brought out, but for the table next to us, which were friends of the servers. We politely asked about our refills, and we were told "yea, I'm just doing a lot of things right now." We had hoped this year would be different, but it is still exactly the same...
