My wife, grandson and I were in Rolling Fork last night for a ball game. Stoped by Chucks at around 7:45 . We walked in, there were two or three guys in back shooting pool and one booth occupied by three men. Two people up front by counter waiting for order. One young girl with pink hair was helping the lady at counter getting her to go order. We stood there and watched one lady sweeping, and at least 4 others. One was cooking , but the others were acting busy, but never acknowledged our existence. They were trying to clean up and get ready to go home, at least that’s the vibe they were sending out. No one ever spoke to us; just kept acting busy. The hours are stated open till 9 …but I get it….that’s how you send a message ….and they certainly did. We stood there for about 3 minutes, no acknowledgment at all so we left. Never been treated quite that rudely , to ignore someone is about as low as it gets. Won’t step foot back in there again.
But the Mexican restaurant across the street is the BOMB!!!! Don’t waist your time at Chucks…go see Norma, they actually get what the service...
Read moreThis was my first visit and oh man I need more of this in my life!!!! The livers and onion rings are the best I've ever had. Hands down. We also tried the okra, chuckburger, and bbq sandwich. It reminded me of old school Frosttop chili cheese burger. Their menu is very diverse, something for everyone. From shrimp, catfish...to hot dogs and chicken. We finished our meal w chocolate shakes for everyone!...delicious. it cost us about 55$. For 4 large sandwiches, 2fries, w 2onion rings, livers, drinks and shakes for 4. McDonald's is more expensive and no where near as delicious. The location was spotless, the employee s were friendly and helpful.and not just becausethey had to be, it was genuine..they all seemed to like working there. The drive was well worth it. We...
Read moreI grew up in Rolling Fork and I don't get back often. But when I return, the trip is incomplete without at least one visit to Chuck's. I'm old enough to remember when Chuck's was just a hamburger stand. From my first taste of Chuck's in Kindergarten until now (46 years later), Chuck's has represented the fast food flavors of home. Grandma's purple hull peas, Granddaddy's steak and gravy and my great grandmother's biscuits, but for burgers or a strip steak basket (and their amazing onion rings), it has to be Chuck's (and their plate lunches are pretty fine, too). Chuck's is synonymous with my hometown. My favorites: quarter chicken basket, strip steak basket, Chuck's burger, onion rings, plate lunches. The "new" owners have been super respectful of the brand and do...
