Stopped by THE RAIL this afternoon (Sunday 7 20 25 @ pm). Saw on the door that they closed at 3 - So plenty of time to grab a bite for lunch & hit the road again.
Menu = I thought was very sparse & I found very little on there that I was interested in. They would do well to add some nachos, something a little pasta, just a little more variety other than 3 burgers , 3 salads, chicken quesadillas (which I chose) & I was told they came w a side. I looked at the street corn & was thinking it was probably corn on the cob roasted w spices WRONG!! She told me it was off the cob, In some type of a mayonnaise base, W Chili powder, 😳 It was terrible!!!!
I sat at the bar as I usually do when i'm by myself & I've learned that I will get better service because there's always somebody behind the bar. No complaints about the service, but she was busy trying to get things together to close & I had to ask for a fork to even attempt to eat the quesadillas. I ate 2 & brought the other 2 pieces home. OVER $16!! 😳
🎶🎙 My main reason for even stopping there was to find out about their event I had been told they have during the week - - kind of like karaoke. She said they used to have SING-O, but it did not go over very well, so they stopped having it.
So struck out on the event. Food was NOT good. Service was okay.
I do not recommend The Rail in Rome, Georgia. They need to make a...
Read moreI’ve been coming to The Rail regularly for breakfast because the biscuits used to be outstanding — fluffy, flavorful, and fresh. But lately, there’s been a noticeable decline in quality. After a change in kitchen staff, the biscuits became doughy, then improved again briefly with a new cook, but now they’re often overcooked, dry, and hard.
I always order the sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit, and it used to come with a nicely cooked flat egg. Now I’m getting scrambled eggs on it, which aren’t nearly as good — they’re bland and don’t work as well on a sandwich.
This morning was especially disappointing: the biscuit was too hard to enjoy, and I wasn’t the only one noticing — I heard other customers around me complaining about the biscuits too.
I love supporting local spots, but consistency really matters, especially for regulars. I hope the kitchen can return to the quality that made this place great in the...
Read moreHeard from a friend about this new eatery and it did NOT DISAPPOINT! She and I went for an early lunch, arrived at 11:45am and were promptly seated. The place was packed by the time we left at 1! The wait for food was minimal, staff was friendly and attentive. Excellent taste! Very fresh and quality meal. Prices are appropriate for portions. My favorite of our order would be the shrimp taco and the pimento cheese dip appetizer. The dip is served heated! I was able to observe other tables orders and saw the burger which was a good size and the wings looked amazing I will be ordering those next time! We didn’t have time to try out the game room, however we did get photos. I was also told the outdoor are is going to have cornhole possibly and a few...
