Blue Sky Ice Cream & Hamburgers — Restaurant in Romulus

Update: yesterday evening was our first time back to this place since last summer. The food was pretty good but a little greasy. All the tables and seats were dirty. After an hour there, I saw no one come out once to clean them. What upset me the most was the supervisor/ manager or whatever she is reprimanding and yelling at a younger employee in front of other employees and customers. The employee looked embarrassed and probably wasn't even listening to her at that point. She was so unprofessional and degrading. You're never going to earn respect and get your employees to listen to you talking down to them like that. I checked reviews before we went and joked with my husband that one of the only low recent reviews was about an employee being yelled at so the food still seemed to be good. But then going and seeing it for myself really pissed me off and I'm a little upset with myself that I didn't say something. I would flip if I found out my kids were being spoken to like that.

We happened upon this place on one of our drives home from the metropark this summer and glad we did. There was a car show going on so that was cool to see and now our kids ask to go back to see all the awesome cars. The burgers are pretty good and are a decent price. The chili cheese fries are delicious! The ice cream is pretty good too although I wish they mixed up their Tornados a little better. Most of the toppings are at the top and maybe a little bit in the middle and bottom if you're lucky. Overall, it's a nice stop after lots of playing...

Right out the airport and straight to this gem. Sorry locals this secret shouldn't be kept. Window service, by a bunch friendly hard working young faces. With outdoor seating and leaninging. You can get burgers by the half dozen, awesome chicken sandwiches, sausages, and sundaes of all kinds. I got the Fatty Patty which is a double cheese burger with a breaded chicken patty 3 mozzerella sticks and bbq sauce. It was sooo satiating. We say moreish where I am from which means you want more and more. I also got a medium fry. These come in the old school brown paper bag, not too greasy. Crispy yet fluffy on the inside. These are thicker than your normal fast food fry and it gives them a better bite. Finally of course I got a sundae. I got the Pretty Much Spectacular. This is a warm brownie with peanutbutter sauce and chocolate ice cream. Over the top? Yes! worth every bite? YES! Ice cream was creamy and smooth. They have pleanty of other styles of sundaes including your standard blizzards, but I recommend the traditional sundae. Not sure when this opens in the year but it closes in October. This place is great. The teens all seem work well together and have great manners. Foods always great and the very cherry shake is the best treat! I came in a couple weeks ago and a lady had a pickup and the young girl forgot to pull the blue slip off or something. The customer complained to the adult worker and the adult was incredibly rude to the worker! She yelled at her in front of the customer and everyone in line which I felt was incredibly rude and unprofessional. If that was my daughter, we most certainly would've exchanged more than words. The same lady was working last night and she needs a lesson in compassion and management. Its mind blowing that the younger ones here have more respect and professionalism than the older lady. And if this is the owner she should be ashamed! Parents, if your kids work here check with them to make sure they're being treated fairly. To the teens working youre doing a great job and never feel that just because some is older than you then youre required to respect them. Respect is earned! Not given!...
