This is one of the best tucked away places to have lunch! The food is always on point! I enjoy having the perfectly grilled pimento cheese sandwich topped with a golden fried green tomato; this is my favorite! For an appetizer, I always order the fried pickles - they are amazing! The fried pickles are definitely a splurge item for me being that they are just a hint salty and just a smidgen greasy, but "good!" The sweet potato fries are another one of my top pics, they are fried to perfection - light and crispy with just the right flavor! To add a pop of flavor to the SP fries use the dipping sauce to set it off! Also, the alcohol free wine is really good, so good that I purchased a bottle to take home.
The Bistro is cozy nice and quaint; they have quite a few tables for 2 which adds a nice romantic feel for a lunch date, or nice private vibe for lunch with a friend. Not to mention that the place is always clean, which is a plus!
The wait staff always seem friendly and patient.
Don't forget to visit the gift shop on the way out to purchase of course your favorite bottle of wine, wine glasses, wine bag or case, jewelry, a nice NC souvenir, and more!
When it's nice out, this is a nice place to sit out at the outdoor tables!
I make a little day trip just to enjoy the Duplin Winery!...
Read moreI decided to go to Duplin Bistro after having my vehicle serviced about 40 minutes away. It was a place we had talked about visiting and since we were not too far away we decided to drive on down and try the food. We arrived at 2:35 and asked the gentleman with the beard if we needed to wait to be seated. He stated âunfortunately we cannot seat you, we close at 3:00.â I understand it was close to closing time but I have never had my business turned away at a restaurant regardless of the time. But we had intended on eating and then purchasing a case of wine but after this service we just turned around and walked out and drove down to Wilmington and ate some great seafood there. Honestly what you could have done was say I apologize for your inconvenience and although we cannot seat you this time we would like for you to come back and see us as we do appreciate your business. It was disappointing too because just at a glance the set up looked very nice. We enjoy the Duplin brand wines but will not return to the...
Read moreChef Bert! Chef Tia! Two absolutely outstanding people that bless us with their outstanding food. Dishes I thought I didn't like - Korean beef being one - turns out I just hadnât had them prepared properly before! You taste the pineapple in the KB because Duplin marinates it for days. Anywhere else you go and order Korean beef and it tastes like Worcestershire and soy i.e. salt. Pulled pork! Fried pork chops! Salads with house-made dressings that will knock your socks off. So much flavor without being heavy. Oh my gosh the burgers! So many dishes Iâm forgetting. All house-made. And the desserts! I even got to go in the kitchen and it is hands down the cleanest kitchen I have ever been in. Perfect service. The servers ability to make you feel welcome and comfortable will bring you back again and again. Wonderful people. Congratulations Bert and Tia! I am so happy...
