Loved how this restaurant is nestled right off the main road, to and from Saint Helen to Oscoda. Just east of Rose City. The staff was very nice and working consistently with a smile and joy. The food is always top-notch. Fresh homemade bread is delicious. Soft and yummy. Buy a Loaf before you leave. You won't regret it. The hamburger was homemade patty and cooked perfectly. Loved the bun, too. The onion rings were huge, and the batter was thick. The dipping sauce with them tasted good, too. It's not spicy at all. Skillet was a little smaller than what we were anticipating but still delicious. Lots of yummy shredded cheese on it. This was our second time in two years, and it did not disappoint us. We are happy to be able to drive 30 minutes for a great atmosphere and delicious tasty food. Thank you. See ya next year. Rifle River Scenic area nearby. I'm not sure if you have to walk or hike a distance, but it looks nice. May try checking it out next year if dogs are allowed...
Read moreMy wife and I eat at Sunrise on average once a week and I order takeout very often. Sometimes I even stop and just get cherry cheesecake for a takeout snack. I tip a minimum of 25% even on takeout. I have been a great costumer for Sunrise. Today will be my last. To charge me $1.60 for gravy on my meatloaf was part of the issue but the smug attitude of the woman working the register was what did it for me when I questioned the charge. I even googled if meatloaf should come with gravy to see if I was being unreasonable. The Google answer was yes it should come with gravy. I have had interactions with the guy that says his wife owns the business. He is as nice as they come and so is the waitresses. Unfortunately the woman working the register is not as nice. All costumers should be appreciated and regulars should be treated as such. The establishment should know what that means. My takeout check number was 101 on 8 -17 -25...
Read more“Your patience is your power” and “show kindness” are written on their windows, and the staff here do an excellent job of both! We came for breakfast after a terrible thunderstorm while camping and observed the staff deal with some very rude, grumpy people. The owner (manager?) was highly professional, thoughtful and cordial. He made us smile. The staff was super attentive and friendly, and filled our coffees repeatedly. The food was delicious and well priced. After decades of camping nearby and never trying this place, we’re happy to incorporate it as a new tradition. But please don’t go there - we want them and their food for...
