Since the Rosenberg location is pretty new, we decided to come on a Tuesday evening to miss the crowd, and luckily it wasn't busy.
Apparently, it was karaoke night and the music was obnoxiously loud. Our server couldn't even hear us to take our order and she kept apologizing for the loudness. We spent the entire evening shouting over the music, my husband was sitting right next to me and I couldn't even hear him. My sister in law's fiancé had to go to his car for ear plugs. It was not an enjoyable experience.
We ordered drinks and it took 20 minutes for them to come out. Appetizers came out at a decent time, but our main food order took about an hour (maybe longer). It was only 3 adult meals and 1 kids meal total.
My husband ordered the fish tacos and rated them 9/10. The fried rice that came with them was also very good! The ceviche was very good! 10/10. We got the shrimp ceviche tostada as an appetizer and it was great! I think that was the best thing that we ordered! The gumbo was just ok. 6/10. Flavor was good, just wish it had a kick to it. I also would have liked more shrimp and crab meat too, it was a bit skimpy and mostly soup. The white rice that it came with had corn, green beans, and carrots in it, I wasn't a fan of that, it was just ok. My sister in law and her fiancé shared the steak and shrimp and rated it 7/10. Empanadas were 10/10, also one of the best things we ordered! Oysters 4/10, they were difficult to eat because of the large shell fragments. Having to spit them out was not appetizing or enjoyable. My daughter enjoyed her grilled shrimp and fries kids meal!
I was not a fan of the margaritas. The house margarita was way too sweet and tasted like pure margarita mix. I added a Dos XX in mine to cut the sweetness, which made it better, but I don't think I'd order a...
Read moreI went to have lunch with my husband, and at the end of our meal, we were only given a total price not an itemized breakdown of what we were being charged. After tipping, we requested a receipt and left. Once in the car, we realized we had been charged for shrimp empanadas that we neither ordered nor received. I immediately returned to the restaurant and asked to speak with the manager, Jose Manuel Hernandez. When I explained the situation, his response was extremely unprofessional and dismissive. Rather than acknowledging the issue, he questioned me asking, “Are you sure you didn’t get it?” His tone and attitude were rude and disrespectful, insinuating that I was lying about the charge. He asked why we didn’t look at the receipt before paying. Instead of handling the matter privately and professionally, he called the waitress over in front of us, questioned her, and ultimately made her use her tip money to refund me for the incorrect charge. He handed me the cash without a single apology. The entire exchange was unprofessional, uncomfortable, and left me with a very negative impression of the restaurant’s management. This experience demonstrates a serious lack of accountability and customer service. A manager should resolve issues respectfully, not by deflecting blame onto customers or staff. I will not be returning due to the poor management and complete disregard for proper customer service. For anyone considering dining here, make sure to double check your receipt to avoid a...
