LaLupita — Restaurant in Roseville

Stopped here because it was close to Denios market and read all the good reviews. I’m giving 2 stars because the food came out fast and the Horchata was good.

For $3-4 a taco, don’t expect much. I was surprised that they were as small as they were. The tortillas aren’t doubled and the meat wasn’t seasoned, or if it was, not very well.

We got 8 asada and 2 Tripa. Even though we asked for the tripa to be fried almost to the point of being burnt, it was soft and the texture was very grainy. Ontop of that, the asada didn’t have the taste or texture of beef. Felt more like pork. ???

We drove from Reno to San Francisco and stopped by Roseville on the way back. I don’t think we will ever come back unless it’s for another horchata or coke...

I've lived in the neighborhood over 30 years. I'm embarrassed to say my 1st time in was today. I'm glad my wife said "let's try there". The enchiladas were great. Full of flavor and well presented in bright red sauce Pico and Mexican cheese. My wife had the Casa Dilla . She wasn't as excited about hers because she didn't get the sour cream and guacamole she specifically had requested. We also only received one fork in the bag for 3 foam containers of food. We ordered to go and 5 people who came after us received their food prior to us. We stood for 30in waiting for the order. That said the food was good. Mine was great the process and service was a bit lacking. Ill try again on another day to hopefully update this...

Hole in the wall place which sometimes are the places with the best food and La Lupita restaurant is not the exception. Been a couple of times with family and every time it didn't dissapoint. The birria is the best I have tried in the Sacramento area. Quesabirria tacos are of a good size with plenty of meat, I loved that they have about 5 different salsas that they make onsite including an awesome Habanero salsa. The agua frescas are great although on the sweet side. If you come here with someone else a must try is the Pizzadilla which is just enough for 2 people but might not be enough for 3 or more. During your visit make sure you say hi to the owner of the establishment Lupita whom you will always see...
