Last night was our first visit to KT's Rasoi and I say "first visit" because we will DEFINITELY be returning! The moment we stepped inside the aromas of the spices from the kitchen was so inviting and absolutely hugged you! We were welcomed by Jules, who was our waiter for the evening and what a wonderful soul he is. We had a lot of questions and he was very patient in explaining the different dishes and helped in recommending dishes to try on the weekend as well. I really like the idea that they offer different dishes on the weekends so we're looking forward to going back and doing just that! For our drinks, my daughter chose the Masala Chai (one of her favorite teas) and I tried the Frooti because well, anything with Mango and I'm first in line!😂👍 So, we started with the Kachori as an appetizer (sorry we forgot to take a photo bc we were so excited to just tuck in☺️). It's a serving of two deep fried savory pastry filled with goodness! It came with two different sauces but my favorite was the mint chutney. (Would definitely order these again only more of them☺️) I actually saved the mint chutney back and used it with my Vegetable Uthapam, a type of pancake topped with onions, tomatoes and other veggies and various spices making it a symphony of flavors when you use it with any of the three dipping sauces they come with. My favorite was the Sambar and the GingerJaggery Pickle. My daughter had the Ghee Podi Idly and that came with the three sauces I had as well. We both really like the peanutcoconut chutney as the smooth creamy peanutty goodness helps "cool" the palate (not that the food was overly spicy bc it's not..it's a well balanced subtle "heat"). It was her favorite one of the night along with the mint chutney. We did end up having to order our dessert to go bc we were so full and used it as a treat later in the evening. But if you get a chance ..DO NOT skip dessert! We ordered the Gulab Jamun and I don't know how to best describe these deep fried dough balls that are soaked in a sweet syrup with flavors of rose water or cardamom. It reminded me of one of the desserts we always had at the holidays. I tried to capture how good the flavors of our meal was bc we're truly blessed to have such a gem of a restaurant in our area, without having to drive Allll the way to Chicago for good and I mean GOOD Indian cuisine. Again, thanks to our waiter Jules, his smile and kindness made us feel so welcome. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND to take the time to go and try the many dishes they have to offer and remember they will have different ones as well on weekends with other offerings on Tues~Wednesdays. So go, relax, take your time and try this restaurant!! *It's located in the plaza just down from Rogers grocery store on Hollywood/Glenlord roads. To quote Ferris Bueller, "Life moves pretty fast and if you don't stop to look around once in awhile, you might miss it." So take his advice, slow down so you don't miss out on this wonderful restaurant! *Sidenote: On the way home, my daughter said, "I hope they continue to do well bc we really need them to stay..their food is amazing!" So there...

Beautiful experience at KT's Rasoi! I love the slogan, "Good Food, Good Mood," as this is a true statement. Located in Saint Joseph, Michigan, this restaurant and the staff are inviting, down to earth, and very kind. If you never had Indian food, you're in for a treat!
The food is phenomenal! It smelled absolutely great in the restaurant! We tried the Onion Uthapam, nice onion taste, nice spice, and lovely texture; chicken and mutton dishes, very fragrant and delicious! I love the spice and the cool cucumber cream on the side. If you're not a spice person, please beware.
The service is amazing. As a new restaurant, the service out the gate was set high. I appreciate the humility, and our water cups stayed full! The menu was explained nicely, and the staff were awesome.
The atmosphere is good. Very clean and nice pictures. As time goes on, I believe the atmosphere will change as it appears they are putting their identity and touches to the new restaurant. I love traditional dishes!

Read moreFlavorful authentic dishes. Friendly, personable services. A delightful experience. As a pescatarian, I love how there are many vegetarian dishes.
FYI: There is currently a rotating menu, Tuesday-Wednesday featuring differ dishes than Friday-Sunday.
On a visit to my hometown in SW Michigan, I went with my mom and sister and experienced the Friday-Sunday menu. Since my mom is not familiar with Indian cuisine, we ordered an array of food for her to sample different options. Everything was tasty. The samosas have a flaky exterior and delicious savory filling. The paneer 65 is a burst of flavors with garlic, spice and curry. We all especially loved the samosa chat special (a tangy-sweet-spicy flavored dish with a blend of textures). Mango lassi, a mango yogurt beverage, is always a favorite indulgence when I go out for Indian cuisine, and theirs did not disappoint (my mom said the lassi was “very good, fruity, smooth, the right consistency.”).
My mom and sister also had the Hyderabadi dum chicken biryani, saying the chicken was moist and the spices flavorful (though the dish was a bit spicy for my mom who has a low spice tolerance—the yogurt sauce served with the dish helping to reduce...
