Sandra Kay's — Restaurant in Royalton Township

Ordered a baby shower cake from here last week. Was super hopeful that this cake would be beautiful because service was exceptional when we ordered! The young lady at the register was so nice, paid close attention to detail, and even checked in the back that they could do what we wanted before we placed our order. We brought in inspo pics and written detailed instructions for them to keep along the lines of - rectangle sheet cake with no border, blue hearts and blue writing in cursive lowercase in one line like photos. They asked when we needed to pick up the cake and we told them today around 9 or 9:30 am because we were planning to set up the baby shower around that time.

My mom went to pick up the cake today later than expected around 3pm as our plans had changed for set up, and though we have no photo to show, when they showed her the cake it had nothing that we asked and in big letters in two lines across the cake said the text “Baby Cifuentes”, no hearts, not a rectangle, edges were rounded. My mom told them that this is not what she ordered, they brought our inspo pics and notes out and again my mom explained yes just like these photos, they brought it out looking like this…. and then Sandra said, “did you really need this cake at 9:30?” Pretty rude especially after making our cake incorrectly. Very bummed at how my mom was treated. Also, the final cake we got was clearly very rushed, most hearts looked like two blobs, they were not spaced out well and looked very messy and the text was not centered. The box smashed the hearts on the side and the cake was not a sharp rectangle as expected so it doesn’t have the clean look I was going for. Would not recommend this place for a detailed request though that may be partially my fault for not going to someone who specializes in these kinds of orders. I went in hoping to get a 8" cake made for a family holiday. I was automatically quoted the 8" would be $100 which I thought was insane. The woman I talked to was also extremely rude and before I could even talk about the way I wanted the cake decorated she automatically told me they couldn't do it. I was shocked by how we were treated there. I went to a few other local pastry shops who were all extremely nice and very reasonable and when I had told them what happened they said they weren't surprised, that it was very common of that shop. I called later over the phone to see if they would give me a different quote over the phone for the same kind of 8" cake and this time was told the base price was only 35. I'm not sure how I could get such different quotes between going in and calling over the phone but definitely is not a place I will purchasing from, let alone eat from between the price differences and how...

I ordered cookies designed like volleyball with each name of my daughters volleyball team. It took multiple times to get the names spelled correctly. This should have been my first red flag but me being me and always giving the benefit of the doubt I didn’t make a big deal because some of the girls have really hard names and I was on the phone so there may have been a bad connection. But I also sent an email with the picture of what I had in mind (posted below) along with the names of every girl. I’m just going to say, I could have done a better job.
