I am visiting from outside Texas and was brought here with enthusiastic praise from my local friends. When we arrived, there was only one other group there who appeared to be wrapping up. We gave our drink and food orders shortly after, and the drinks arrived without issue.
Thatās where things went south.
Our food was brought out, and we realised the beans on the side were cold. Not lukewarm, actually cold. We also werenāt asked if we needed any condiments or drink top ups before the server rushed off to do something else. After a while of being ignored, I approached the kitchen to inform them the food was cold and we needed hot sauce. When I returned, we realized our tacos were also cold through - again, not lukewarm from sitting for a few minutes but cold from top to bottom. The owner tried to blame it on the AC blowing. We waited several more minutes and were approached by the person setting up karaoke to ask how things were going, at which time we expressed that our experience was not going well. He left the table - without offering to take an order for drinks - and disappeared to help run the bar or check in with the kitchen, I lm not really sure.
Eventually our beans came out hot, minus the hot sauce Iād asked for, and we had to tell them our tacos were cold. At this point, theyād managed to run out of street tacos - odd at 7:30pm on a Friday night / Valentineās Day.
By this point, weād just managed to get our drink order in (they didnāt know what whiskeys they had at the bar and had to go back for several minutes to check). We decided to cut our losses and requested the cheque. At this point, I received the drink Iād ordered and was frustrated to find it had very little alcohol in it - the cherry on the sundae of a laughably bad dining experience.
Despite expressing dismay at the service we received and having the service continue to come up short, they still showed up with a bill for the drinks weād had. We were flabbergasted after the experience weād had to even be asked to pay a cheque and sent off with anything but apologies and a desire to make it up next time. They did eventually comp the bill, but at this point itās too little too late, especially when one of the servers came over and gave my friend an uncomfortably dirty look for having the audacity to be vocal in advocating for at the bare minimum a neutral dining experience.
I donāt live here but rest assured if I did, I would not be back. We ended up at BrewBirds, which despite being open for just a week was completely packed. I hope Ladyhawk will consider how much they have to lose operating a bar that isnāt on the main drag and operating as if they can lose customers to bad service and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDonāt be fooled by by the 4.5 that was when Katie the bar tender was there. Sadly she no longer works there. She was the reason we came back. We went to their liquor tasting and the pour size was embarrassing. We came for dinner and drinks with an out of town friend and the service was terrible and food was cold. When one of the ladies handed me back the gift voucher I had won, she made sure to emphasize that it was for food only. I said she could keep it because we wouldnāt be coming back and her expression basically said- āeff youā. She rolled her eyes and walked off. The āmanagerā he told us heās been a photographer for 20 years and only in the food industry for 3 weeks. It showed. We went up going to Brew Birds on main street and it was packed, lively and well staffed with friendly people. The live music...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent for breakfast with a few friends. Service is good and the ambience is the reason to come here. Cool secret gem, hideaway for Quinlan. New owners are doing a good job. Pancakes and waffles are great and were as advertised on their Facebook page!!! The biscuits and gravy were spot on. The eggs (fried, scrambled and omlette) were good, nothing over the top. The hash browns, bacon and sausage were ok. Overall, i will go here again, as the prices match the food. Suggestions: once the business gets booming for breakfast, upgrade by doing your own hashbrowns and a better sausage. Also maybe offer $1-2 less if you just want one pancake or waffle with the Big Breakfast. Its a lot of food all together . Lastly, add cornbeef...
