This is NOT a hotel review. This only concerns the restaurant. More specifically, the Backroom Event part of the restaurant. A review of the food is at the end, but first I must vent about this special event. My wife and four friends of ours came tonight for a comedy show. We had early dinner reservations for 2 hours before the show. Once we found our reserved table, it took 25 before a waitress came to our table despite there only being 12 other guests in the place at the time. Pat and I got our drinks from the bar ourselves fifteen minutes before the waitress showed up. The comedy show started at 9:00pm. The two opening comedians weren't funny. I'm no prude but constant f-bombs and toilet jokes haven't made me laugh since I was in college. I have a red flag that never fails to come true. If the comedian uses the f-bomb at least four times in the first 90 seconds, the rest of the act will likely suck. Based on tonight, this rule still applies. Then it turns out the headliner cancelled so the We Are Inn booked a replacement. I wish I would've caught his name, he was funny. He was from Pittsburgh as well, just like Matt Little, the originally scheduled comic, told more relatable stories about family and holidays and such, using expletives sparingly. We were enjoying him, even his interactions with the attending Penn State Football players in the audience were entertaining. However, the downfall of the night was when the owner of this establishment, apparently thinking he was an up-and-coming comedian, wouldn't shut up while sitting in his seat up front. Having to listen to belligerent guests is one thing, but the owner? Shame on you. We left, the comedian said goodbye to us and I assured him that we enjoyed him but pointed to the owner and his entourage and exclaimed "we liked you but this group here sucks." Needless to say, we won't be planning to attend any more special events here. As for the food, I will share comments from some of us at our table. My wife and I shared a Reuben with boardwalk fries. They even split the sandwich and fries onto two separate plates. The Reuben was good, nothing to brag about, but good. The fries arrived cold. My wife asked for a fresh batch. They complied, they were great. My wife's friend had Fettuccini Alfredo. It was very good and she highly recommends it. My friend's wife had stuffed mushrooms. She said it was a little heavy on the "gravy" which she noted was actually marinara sauce. Otherwise, she said they didn't suck. I guess that's good. My friend got buffalo wings. They were swimming in sauce but none of the sauce was baked onto the wings themselves. I usually order wings when my wife orders a Reuben. This time I'm glad I didn't. In summary: Food ★★★½ Service ★★★ Event ★★

Great energy and atmosphere at the We Are Inn, Philipsburg, PA! Terrific service and well prepared food! Drinks, Pinot Grigio for me - Perpetual IPA for my Husband, came quickly. We skipped appetizers, but my entree came with a salad, perfect size to start and yes, I ate the flower garnish! I ordered the Lobster Ravioli, and am deeply grateful for the graciousness my special request to skip the garlic sauce was handled, our server was a real professional, subsequently the dish was the best Lobster Ravioli I have ever eaten, the pasta was stuffed with fresh lobster meat, accentuated by a delicious parslied lemon butter sauce, served with a yummy sautéed squash medley and bread. Hubby ordered the Philipsburger with Boardwalk Fries. I’ve seen him order some big burgers before, but I believe this was the biggest, included an egg and shaved steak, he almost ate it all! I finished with the pumpkin cheesecake, made from scratch by the owners’s daughter, it was delicious! Lots of warm spice flavor in a perfectly creamy cheesecake! Great dining experience! Very much geared toward PSU fans and even were given free buttons in honor of this weekend’s play off game! Glad we made the trip, and look forward to eating here again.

The atmosphere is great! The food is outstanding! The facility was very clean and well kept. Love the view of cold stream dam. Convenient parking. I gat the cheese steak with fresh cut fries with extra Swiss cheese! My wife got chicken finger kids menu with steak fries with a delicious wing sauce on the side. Everything came out all together and very promptly. Everything was hot and fresh made with high quality ingredients. I did have to take off one star because we ran out of water quite early on and was not offered a refill until we were pretty much done eating. I have never had this problem before but our waitress this time seemed very occupied in conversation with someone at the bar. This is not common here so don’t be put off. I would recommend this place to anyone and will for sure be returning.

Upon arrival, you should know parking is limited so expect that during peak times. I came on two different days at two different times and ordered different meals, just to get a different experience so I'm basing my review on both. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. There's pros and cons to both of this, as with everything. Day 1) It was pretty full w/ seating inside so we chose to sit outside even though it was chilly that day. Service was not the quickest although like I stated, it was busy. I order an angus burger and fries, it was cooked perfect and had good flavor, I ate both the burger and the fries and was comfortably full.

Day 2) I chose to sit inside knowing it'd be a lot warmer and I'd be more comfortable. I was warmer, however the seating inside is close together. If you're looking for a more quiet, private setting, this isn't the place. Our table was not cleaned off prior to us sitting down and Day 2) I ordered a chicken cheesesteak, my son ordered chicken fingers (my son rated these 10/10) and we waited around 33min before it came out. Again, there was no issue with the food. The food was cooked well, full of flavor. The food is also extremely reasonably priced. Even though service is slow, the staff seemed friendly, apologetic and respectful.. and it could just be an issue of not having enough staffing in the kitchen. Even so, I would've liked to have seen the tables wiped off before we sat down. The food, staff presence and prices are a solid 5 stars The close seating environment and the table cleanliness is what knocked this review down for me. I will continue to eat here as I'm determined to try nearly everything on the menu, whoever is in charge of the kitchen and menu selections, is doing something right. There's an attention to detail in flavors happening at We Are Inn, that are not commonly found anywhere else...

I truly do not understand how people can say this was a nice place to stay. We were coming in for my mother’s funeral and wanted a place close to the cemetery. I booked this place for two nights and we left after the first. I don’t even know where to begin. When you walk in you are immediately hit with furniture. Way too many big pieces of furniture in this room. The bathroom is about the size of a closet. I had read the place had been remodeled but I don’t think they got to room 107 yet. The bathroom window had been painted over and then scraped off I was trying to figure out if this was some kind of privacy thing or laziness on the person painting. The caulking was all coming off around the sink and the shower which had very low water pressure had a hole in the wall. The linens given were nothing to write home about and 1 ply toilet paper was not appreciated (I didn’t know they still made 1 ply). The noise coming from the trucks did not make for a peaceful sleep however since there was a gap between the door and the floor at the entrance, we had to keep the heat at full blast all night to keep from freezing. This place needs some serious work done to it. THE RESTAURANT was nice. When we got in from traveling 8 hrs we just wanted something light to eat. We were the only ones in the place which made me nervous but the food was very good. I had the beef barley soup which was very flavorful and a toss salad. It was just your basic bag mix with cherry tomatoes and cucumber added but it was crisp and fresh. The dressing was generous. My husband had the chicken parm sandwich and said it was very good. Our waiter Rob was attentive and very pleasant. So if you are looking for a place to eat I give it 5 stars but run don’t walk to find someplace else to...
