Village Snack Bar — Restaurant in Rutland City

My wife and I stopped for lunch while heading home from shopping. It wasn’t hectic at that time which was good. We were able to get to the window without waiting. The young lady who took our order was very outgoing and friendly. I ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger basket and my wife ordered the Fried Clam Basket. The wait time was minimal. My burger basket was HUGE. It was a nice big burger with fresh lettuce and a juicy slice of tomato. Ketchup and mustard. The fries reminded me of going to the boardwalk at Old Orchard and buying the fries. The only thing I was missing was vinegar to soak them in. I give it a 9 The clam basket was HUGE. It pains me to have to give a review like this because the food is great. My wife and I were in there yesterday May 9th to have lunch. A guy that works there apparently just started had asked my Wife for her phone number after telling her how nice it was to see her again as she went there with a friend days earlier. I think that this type of behavior is unacceptable. I was not standing with her at that exact moment when the incident happened but I also don’t need this happening every time my wife goes there. For you guys that do not want your wives hit on I would suggest a different place for them to go. In my opinion this is a family environment and should not be hit on by the staff. Fantastic Comfort Food! 24 Flavors of Soft Serve Ice Cream! Dipped Cones! Seafood! This place has it all! Three HUGE covered seating areas with picnic tables. Everything is very clean, open and so comfortable. Great place to bring the kids or the whole family for a fun get together. Staff are professional, courteous, fast and friendly. Now let's talk about the food. O.M.G! The burgers are HUGE, juicy and so tasty! Was better than anything you can get in town even at the fancy places. Veggie burger is to die for!
