2022 edit below.

Took a detour on my road trip back to Minneapolis from Indianapolis. Was looking for a spot where I could try a couple of pints and also try someplace new while I worked on photos from an event I just shot.

The time I went the spot was relatively quiet and I was seated immediately and instructed to review a QR code menu to see what was on tap. Sadly the menu didn’t properly load so I resulted in looking at the one projected on the wall above the bar.

Beers were good, above average for the hazy IPA styles I like, and their imperial stout was on par with some of my favorites out of Minneapolis and Houston.

Staff was friendly, I was served relatively quickly, and good attention was paid to my being ready for the next pour. On that Mark, service was great. Outside of that, I kinda left feeling like I was just another number for them.

Not that I need any special attention, but usually when I walk around a brewery with a camera, staff usually sparks up some type of conversation. Here, that wasn’t the case, the only real conversation was between staff at the bar and register area. Again, service was good overall, but a big draw for me to places like this is some social time Too.

Only real complaint i have is that I was billed for 10 & 16 ounce pours when all but my last pint were 5 ounce tasters. I thought the bill was high, but I didn’t look into detail on it until I was far away at home in MN.

::EDIT:: March 20 2022 update. Customer service just doesn’t match the beer quality , and was honestly disappointed with the food this round. Quite a neat location and taproom, but the relative lack of care and having to flag bartenders down is inexcusable especially when I was first in on this Sunday and it wasn’t too busy. Sadly I will have to find a new place to stop on my road-trips going forward. I doubt I will be...

UPDATE 2: I went back out to More in Huntley today and everything Tom and I had worked out to resolve the issue, happened. I commend Tom for his efforts and have raised the rating to 4 stars based on his handling of the situation. Thanks again, Tom.

UPDATE: After the response from the owner below, I had an email exchange with him and he is working to make this situation right. As such, I am increasing the rating to 3 stars and, once fully resolved, I will make an additional adjustment. My thanks to Tom for all his efforts.

ORIGINAL: While I would normally commend More in Huntley for both food and beer, today's experience fell woefully short. The beer we had was good but we ordered the Italian Beef Eggrolls appetizer and were told it would be a little bit. We weren't in a rush so we said no problem and ordered their chips and dip to tide us over. 30 minutes later we were told the egg rolls were still on the way and ordered another beer each. 30 minutes after that, the waitress came out and said that they weren't actually going to have the egg rolls ready until tonight. They apparently make them in large batches and they can't or won't cook any of them until the entire batch is ready. Had we just been told when we first placed out order that they weren't available, we'd have been disappointed but fine and would have ordered something else other than chips. But since we had been strung along for an hour waiting on something that was never going to be ready, we ended up just paying the check and leaving. If something is not available, they should have just told us. No plans to return to More in Huntley any time soon. Very...

Very sad that we had such a bad experience, because it was our first and last time there. Arrived at 5:30, were told it was an hour wait, but thought we'd enjoy a beer while waiting. 30 minutes later, text that our table was ready, but when we walked the 3 feet to the podium to be seated, "sorry, you were bumped, just a little while longer." 45 minutes later we were finally seated and food orders placed at 7:00 - ok, we're enjoying the beer and conversation. At 8:00 our server came back and said she had "no idea when our food would be out - no idea what's going on back there." At 8:20 the food finally arrived, and it was AWFUL! Burgers weren't even fast food quality and ice cold on crumbly buns. Shrimp chowder was cold, had a "skin" on top from sitting and a strong fishy smell. Salad dressing was rancid. "Alfredo" pasta had NO flavor. Out of 7 meals, 5 were regular burgers and and there was no ketchup or mustard brought out. The only edible meal, out of 7 served, was the Hawaiian burger. It was so obviously bad that the manager (the same one that "bumped" us) came over and comped ALL of our food! It's a shame because the beer was pretty good, but the food and the service left A LOT to be desired. The place was full (at 50% capacity because of COVID), but not packed, and only a handful of people waiting - tables just were NOT turning over because food was taking SO long to come out. By the time our food came, most of the tables throughout the place were empty and cleared. Oh, and our "adjusted" $11 bill, automatically added a $8.67 tip on our receipt! I really hope our visit was an anomaly and...

Huge open space with great lighting and surprisingly inviting considering the size of the place. Tons of house made beers on tap, a nice sized guest tap selection and an interesting menu make for a great place to eat and drink. I got a flight of 4 styles - Helles, Maibock, Barleywine and an Imperial stout. My Buddy got Cream Ale, Wheat Ale, House Hard Seltzer and a different Stout. We sampled all of the an there were some standouts - the wheat, barleywine and both stouts were top notch - but all of them were good, well crafted brews. We got Nacho Fries as a table appetizer- yum. Packed with flavor but could have been a larger serve for the price. I got the Tandoori Chicken sandwich, my friends got the More Burger and the BLTA (bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado) sandwich. We all got cheese curds as our sides. Great chicken and bread - once again smallish portion for the price but really good - could have been a touch more chicken and a smidge less raita and onions - but the tandoor chicken was juicy and delicious. Here’s the breakdown: Quality, attentive service +1 star; excellent beer selection +1 star; I love flights +1 star; great food +1 star; great friends to spend a night with +1 star. I’d for sure go back.
