UPDATE: Leaving a response basically denying everything we said about our experience with your company looks awful on a business and makes it look like your company can do no wrong. It’s not an argument. It’s my experience with your company. Take the feedback and criticism and improve for the future, don’t try to prove your customers wrong by replying with a comment. It’s unprofessional. Also after we put this review up we received phone calls/ voicemails asking us to take the review down because we had not told the truth about our experience (they basically said we were lying). I’m baffled.

Shelby Cake has delicious cake! We usually have an amazing experience, but we ordered our wedding cake here and I have to say I'm more than disappointed. When we ordered our cake we were told that it would be able to be transported without an issue and that it would stay in tact well. (We had placed an order for a 4 tiered cake.) We had the exact opposite experience. Our cake had to travel 4 hours to make it to our wedding. We asked for it to be separated into 4 different tiers so that we could insure that it would stay nice, but it was only separated into 2 separate pieces when we picked it up. The bottom two tiers were together and they brought out to the car WITHOUT BEING PUT IN A BOX! How can you expect a cake to travel 4 hours outside a box? You can't. When they placed the cake in the vehicle they bumped it against the seat and messed up some of the frosting, not to mention the top was cracked. The second tier was lopsided and falling over ( not from the drive , we received it that way!) And the bottom of the layers were lifting up. When I got a closer chance to look at the cake it looked poorly made and the frosting look liked it has been done in about 2 seconds. The cake was very expensive and not worth the money we paid for it. With it being a wedding cake we expected the best, but received the worst. The cake was delicious and our guests loved it, but it was lopsided in pictures and several of our guests noticed it, it was tacky. Me an my husband went in i order a oreo cookie cake shake . The cookie itself had a very weird taste. It taste like it was a pre frozen cookie. It had a freezer burnt taste. And it was super hard. The cake was okay not the greatest. And there was maybe a tablespoon worth of vanilla ice cream. I took 3 bites. Tossed the rest. My husband got 1 scoop of ice-cream with reese's. The cookie had no reese's in it. And the cookie was extremely hard. He did not enjoy it at all. Plus the cupcakes in the case looked very old. Some of them were sinking in the middle. The cupcake liners were starting to pull away from the cupcakes, which tells me that they're old not fresh . I'm not 1 to leave bad reviews, but I was just really disappointed on how everything tasted. It was a waste of $10. and then some girl who came in with a few other people ( her parents) who apparently works there in the morning. Went behind the counter started reaching in the case without washing her hands first. That is completely unsanitary, and I was just completely mind, blown at the fact that she opened the bakery case up without washing her hands and started grabbing pastries for her parents out of there. And she was not wearing any gloves. That is not professional at all. I understand She was trying to help her sister, but I couldn't help but think she contaminated the other pastries as she went in there.And grabbed those without...

This was our first trip to this neat little shop. We tried the coconut macaron, the strawberry cake, the sugar, cookie truffle, the chocolate cake shake, and the funfetti cake shake. All were delicious. If you like sweets, this is one of the best things that will ever happen to your life. My kids devoured the cake shakes. I tried both of them. They were delicious. I am not a macaron guy, but my wife said they were good. The strawberry cake had a delicious frosting, and it was very rich! My favorite thing was either the chocolate cake shake, or the sugar cookie truffle. They were both out of this world. Do not be fooled by the slump block building along the highway. The place is very clean and modern inside. The level of customer service is something you would only find in Mayberry. Even the other customers were super friendly.
