Gionino's Pizzeria of Nordonia — Restaurant in Sagamore Hills Township

I was house sitting in Northfield and craving pizza. I googled “pizza delivery near me” and Gionino’s was the only place open and also delivering on a Tuesday evening around 9. That alone is a star-worthy convenience. Service when I called was friendly and accommodating, especially considering I had no menu and was just randomly ordering. Overall it was good, but it also had potential to be so much better. Seems to me these guys have a great market—they just need to step up their game a bit.

They delivered on time as promised (if not early) and my delivery guy was super nice and had a pleasant attitude which was notable considering it was storming like crazy outside. Like thunder, lightening and flash flooding… I had no expectations considering the weather, so I appreciated that and the fact that my food was hot.

My pizza wasn’t totally prepared as requested, but I had no problem inhaling it regardless. It was a tad undercooked, and definitely not the thin crust I was craving but it was good. Also, their white-sauce was pretty tasty. They were super generous with the added ingredients, my spinach tasted fresh and they gave me a ridiculous amount of extra cheese. Yum. My only true disappointment was that I REALLY had my heart set on a thin crust. Thin. I remember when ordering I said ‘thin’ twice and felt like a Karen but I just can’t handle all that dough…what a bummer.

Other than that, a huge second slice cooked longer in the toaster oven really hit the spot. I’ll probably try it again next time I visit Northfield because of service, availability and taste alone, but I’ll also nag them about my thin crust! I would have given five stars, but the thick crust just wasn’t...

I Ordered two traditional pizzas Hour later my pizzas was delivered to see that they were thin crust and the meat lovers was subpar at best.Once I call to make sure my order was taken out correctlyI let the Gentleman know that this is not what I wanted and I just wanted a refund. When I arrived I let him know I just wanted a refund for the cost of the pizza the delivery driver can keep his tip.This guy came to the window very aggressively and argue with me there is nothing wrong with it his pizza.I said we're going to have to agree to disagree but I just want my money back. At that time the gentleman told me he cannot give me back my money! At that time the delivery driver whom still had my money for the delivery was willing to give me back my money.But the gentleman called his boss and the boss told him only give me back$30 of a $40 purchase. At that time I told him that is not sufficientI demanded that he give me all my money back. At that time the delivery driver jumped on the call and was able to get me my money back.I will never spend money With them. I will starve before I deal with that type of disrespect. Tried to order 2 large pizzas for 11:30 lunch on a Saturday. Started calling at 10:30 because google said they opened then. They didn’t answer the phone until 11:00. Placed my order and the woman I talked to said 35 minutes for delivery. Only 5 minutes after I wanted it so no big deal. At 11:45 still no pizza. I called to see where it was and the same woman told me he hadnt left yet. When I questioned it, she went off on a tangent about how “he never should have said that and he knew he had catering orders!” Well, I reminded her that it was HER that I spoke to and then she started YELLING at me! I told her she could cancel the whole order, asked for her name and for the owners name and she refused to give me either, said she was too busy to deal with it and hung up on me. I called back several times and she just proceeded to say she didn’t have time to deal with it and continued to hang up on me. Finally someone else answered and he told me that this was actually the HEAD MANAGER THERESA that was answering the phone! HORRIBLE customer service.
