Review of 2741 E. Sawyer Road, Quail Creek, Green Valley, Arizona
My wife and I have rented at Quail Creek for the past several years and we have always enjoyed the activities and people at this wonderful resort. The houses, until this past year, have been wonderful with all the amenities one would expect in this upscale community
This brings us to April 2014. We signed a rental agreement with the new owners and had to pay the complete 6 months rent in advance (about $15,500.00) and a security deposit of $2370.00.
When we arrived on November 1, 2014, this “fully furnished” house contained the following items: NO Toaster NO Blender NO Steak knives (there were three or four very small 3” X ½” knives that looked like they were obtained at a gas station as a gift for buying gas) Chipped coffee cups NO butter dish NO cleaning utensils (wire brush) for the grill 3 very small wine glasses NO bowl large enough to make a salad for four or more people NO pot large enough to boil water for spaghetti and other macaroni for dinner for 6 to 8 people or to steam vegetables Four chairs for a table that sat at least 8 people (with several table extensions in the closet in the guest bedroom) NO new water filter in the refrigerator (change filter light on) A broken coffee pot Only a very small baking dish (bought three larger ones to use when cooking A poorly maintained microwave that had to be replaced during the first few weeks of our stay Old very thin rug runners/matts that were rolled up and stored and replaced with new ones and then cleaned and returned to the floor when we departed Original linens, sheets and bed covers with a mildew order (same ones as when we were at this house several years earlier) – we bought new ones to use in both bedrooms during our stay - put the old ones back on when we left NO new towels for the guest bathroom for our guests to use
We bought new comfortable covers for the outdoor furniture in that the existing ones were original and thin and worn (took new ones with us when we left) Air conditioning stopped working for several hours but then later started up on it’s own – repair person fixed same
While the golf cart was in good condition and ran well, there was no place to keep a divot mix container so I bought one and installed it. This way the user of the cart can help to maintain a well-groomed and functional golf course. I left this on the cart when I moved out
We offered to leave everything we bought (or any individual item) at the house (along with the receipts of purchase) and asked the owners if they were interested in purchasing (at cost) any of the items for future renters. Four and one half months after we sent the original email we received an answering email saying they wanted the coffee pot (we later received a check for it).
In my opinion, this house seemed better suited for a week long camping trip then a six-month residence in an upscale community
We have rented a much different home in Quail Creek for next November through April and look forward...
Read moreWorst service ever in the Oasis lounge & I have been taking Clients here for a couple of years! Young waitress named Valerie, according to the receipt, took our order & then sat down at the next table with a loud mouth grey haired customer named Gary who over shared info including about his relationship with his partying daughter while theoretically giving advice to young Valerie. He rightly stated that he is a degenerate and has never grown up while inserting Fing this and Fing that in nearly every other sentence. The talk about "used up women" and abusive language about women was disturbing but so loud one could not talk over it.
After nearly an hour waiting for our order, my client motioned to waitress Valerie who was still seated at the customers table. She got up and came over to ask, did you need something? I replied that we were wondering if she could check on our order. She replied in a smart SASSY tone, I put the order in, Do you want to go check on it yourself? Totally uncalled for!
I asked another waitress to please send the Manager and as he arrived, our order magically arrived. The food was cold! My Client expressed his displeasure. The Manager stated, I will take care of this and then the service is done. (meaning he would comp the meal)
The Manager could see that another employee was now talking to the loud mouth Gary who was holding this young Waitress' hand chatting her up while still another employee was seated at his table. The Manager did nothing to have the loud table tone it down or attempt to see to it that the servers returned to work.
I paid the bill & we left as soon as possible! I informed the Manager I did not wish to have the meal comped as there was nothing wrong with the food other than it was cold due to a lack of service. This was between 3PM - 5PM on a Saturday when there were only a few people present.
This was the most embarrassing & unprofessional environment I have ever witnessed and my Client was very displeased to say the least. As a Realtor, it certainly didn't help with making the case that Quail Creek is where one...
Read moreExpensive disappointment! Fairly limited and uninspiring menu. I asked the server to recommend something and they suggested the pork belly Benedict with chipotle hollandaise.
Despite the nursing home cafeteria ambiance and concerning menu, I went with their suggestion. What arrived was some of the saddest, most barely edible food I have had the disdain to have placed in front of me. To say I've had better food in a hospital or on an airplane is a disservice to the culinary workers of those respectable industries.
The English muffin had not been toasted. It was soggy to the point of being literal mush with butter and excess moisture from the waterlogged, over-poached egg which had a completely firm yolk. The "crispy pork belly" was a miniscule piece of limp grey and white disappointment.
Perhaps worst of all, the "chipotle hollandaise" was beyond flavorless. It was thin to the point of being transparent. Skim milk has a bold flavor in comparison. There was no salt in the sauce whatsoever, nor even a fleck of chipotle. I even had the server verify that it wasn't regular hollandaise [which still would have been unacceptable, given how bland it was], and was informed that "maybe the chefs didn't put very much chipotle".
Given that the restaurant employees young people for front of house, I have to give them credit for staying cheerful and attentive despite pushing such low-quality, overpriced food. Hence why the service...
