Pop's Barbeque — Restaurant in Saint Florian

Aight, pros and cons time: (All subjective statements are made in comparison to other local BBQ places. I don't expect everything to be Dreamland.)

Pros: • Bomb sweet tea. • Drink sizes are generous. • Chocolate. Dipped. Cheesecake. • Certain menu items, such as the potato salad, are excellent. •Pleasant, acceptable atmosphere with local memorabilia on the walls. •There's a large chicken and pig out in the parking lot, and that's gotta be worth something.

But...

Cons: •Staff at counter were blatantly rude. •Price:portion ratio was disappointing. •Majority of menu items are not fantastic. •My order was wrong, but maybe I'm just bitter about it. •Sauce was pretty bland, to be honest. I had both hot and mild.

So in the context that this is one of the only restaurants in St. Florine, I guess I can recommend it. Maybe they just had an off day, but I disliked my lunch enough to write a review about it, so.

The cheesecake is the only thing saving it...

If you are ever driving through the area you must stop at this adorable BBQ spot. It was an absolute treat dining here. I believe the people working there were the owners and they were so nice, we immediately felt like family. We both ordered the pulled pork sandwich with spicy slaw! Oh my goodness! This was the best pulled pork sandwich I’ve ever had. The meat was so good and I have never had spicy slaw before but it was great! I also got a small side of the beans and potato salad, they were both very good. The BBQ sauce and vinegar based sauce on the table paired perfect with the sandwiches as well. This was my first time visiting this restaurant. I went in and waited my turn to order. The older lady working the counter was incredibly rude. As I was ordering , she kept yelling.. what? Huh? What kind of slaw do you want?!?? All in a disrespectful… you are hindering my day sort of tone. I wasn’t ugly or rude. I just smiled. Then when my food order was ready, she walks it over…frowning…and says as she rolls her eyes, “All your sides are in the bag!” Where else would I expect them to be? The food was the only positive. It was really good. Too bad the worker wasn’t as positive...
