Today is the first time I have been here for a long while. As of 5 months ago it has changed owners and you can tell the difference! I spent almost $40 on tamales, carnitas, chicharrones, pastries, and drinks. Wasn't so much worried about the price because it all sounded so good but it was the total opposite! Horrible doesn't even begin to describe it. The tamales are dry, have zero flavor, are burnt, and about as big as a hot dog. The carnitas tastes of expired freezer burnt meat. It is tough, overcooked and has so much fat and gristle that it's almost impossible to chew let alone swallow. The chicharrones are overcooked and so crunchy that I thought I broke my tooth! Needless to say, I am positive the pastries we will try in the morning will make for just as horrible of a breakfast as this did dinner! I've had a lot of authentic, delicious Mexican food in my life and even some bad but this by far is the worst. It's so bad I'm not even going to feed it to my dogs. It's all in the trash and I know I will not be returning. If you decide to try it for yourself, don't say I...
Read moreI don't honestly understand the good reviews of this place. But I was excited. I am from the west, so.... 12.99 (not 9.99 as advertised) for the buffet, ok. I blame the cough. But My bad as the buffet looked disgusting. Why did I do it? I was hoping for taste. Absolutely worse than what it looked. A bottle of water with it if you ask. No refills. Old boiled meats in various types of disgusting sauces. Dried cooked rice. Other nasties. This is NOT good Mexican food. 1.2 out of 5. The corn tortillas were edible. Glad I had a can of apricots in my vehicle after. Otherwise I wouldn't have had anything decent for lunch that day. No joke. I really question most of these reviews. Are they actually real? 1 star, I...
Read moreI'm from southern California and have been horribly disappointed with the Mexican food here in St. Joe. All the big fancy restaurants that everyone tells me to go to, "oh it'll change your mind", have been overly salted, no flavour or spicy, and are cheap imitation of what everything is on the menu. This place has been the ONLY place where I ate everything and went back for seconds! They don't have a huge selection to their menu like big fancy restaurants, but you definitely have quite a variety to choose from. I will be coming back here when I'm craving Mexican food because it is my first and...
