Worst service I’ve ever had. I have worked in the restaurant business since I was 15 and I have NEVER thought it was necessary to write a bad review on a restaurant until last week. My boyfriend and I came to eat here last Sunday the 23rd, around 3:00- (near the end of the Vikings game) we sat on the patio, very nice sunny day, not too many tables full. My boyfriend ordered a beer and it took about 15 minutes to come out and when the server brought it she put it on the wrong table, a table that wasn’t hers. Our food was phenomenal, but our server never came to check on us after she brought our food, we had to flag her down to get some silverware and condiments brought to the table. We waited for quite some time, the people who originally got our beer (who had a really proactive sever) were in and out before us. Our server came back after quite some time and asked if we were ready for our check, in which we said yes and gave her a card right away to run the check, she came back and very dull-ly said “Thanks guys”. Before we left we went to the bathrooms and saw her sitting in the back of the supper club in a booth on her phone. When we walked out of the restaurant our table was still dirty with our dishes and such. As I said earlier, I totally understand the circumstanstes of working as a server, and when I worked at a tap house we had a lot of rules and time increments in which we greeted/served our guests. I am definitely NOT one to usually complain and I get every body has bad days, but it is always good to fake it around customers. But on that particular Sunday afternoon there seemed to be no excuse for her to provide such poor service. I’m writing this in hopes it will be brought to her attention. As for the other server at the table next to us- bravo! Because of her and because of the delicious food I will definitely give it...
Read moreThe giant pretzel was really good. Cheese curds were dry and just meh. The rueben sandwich was not good at all. It was dry and super thin. There were like two slices of meat, and barely any sauerkraut. I don't think the sauce was real thousand island either. The french fries tasted old and they were crunchy like potato chips. The nachos were sub par. There wasn't much of the smoked meat on them, but it had a TON of coleslaw covering the entire plate. My wife sent the craft cider bourbon beer back. She said it was gross. The main course was brought out literally right after or appetizers were brought out. Our waitress was nice but she was one of those loud talker types who talks as if the whole world is hard of hearing elderly folks. This was our first time here and before ordering, our waitress said that everything on the menu is good because she's married to the cook. This is why we didn't complain about our issues with the food. We spent an extended amount of time with the manager and his backside inside of our personal space while he worked to run and tape down an extension cord around our table for the upcoming live duet. The building and atmosphere was nice except for an ubundance of flies crawling all over us and our plates. Made us wonder what the kitchen was like. Two stars for a nice facility and friendly staff. Zero stars for bad bar food, a bad craft beer, loud talking staff (thanks for the headache lol) and the mangers lack of personal space awareness. We're new to the area but probably won't be back. It seems like the parking lot is always packed so the experience at 5:00 on a Thursday was quite disappointing. We've discovered that Johan's in Belle Plaine has amazing bar food at a much more reasonable price. Probably our go to spot...
Read moreWe have been regular customers since JSC opened. Have been there numerous times and have had good experiences overall. My wife's birthday was last Saturday so on April 17. I called to make a reservation, nobody answered so I left a message. Tuesday afternoon, I had not heard back so I called again. I was lucky enough to get Ryan the manager on the line. I made a reservation with him for Saturday the 22nd at 7 p.m. We showed up at 7 sharp. The hostess told us they had seated a group at our table 40 minutes earlier and they had not ordered yet. I asked to speak with Ryan the manager. After a brief 20 minutes, he was kind enough to meet with some of his regular clients. I asked him what happened. He explained that a group of 20 had arrived without reservations and they demanded to be seated so he did just that despite our reservation. I asked him if he happened to see the article in the Star Tribune earlier that week which focused on a relaxed dining experience which we were aware of. I would estimate our average dining visits would be 1 1/2 hours with apps, relish tray, cocktails, entree, and then dessert. He said he had seen the article and agreed with the premise. I asked him why then he would have seated people in our booth 40 minutes prior to our reservation. No solid answer. I have recommended numerous people to this restaurant and like to support local businesses but there are a lot of other venues that would love a $250-$300 dinner client. We left for another option. They have my contact information, but I haven't heard a thing. Really disappointed with how management handled this. Not planning on being back any time soon. Really a shame to lose "regulars." Might want to ask your servers and hostess about...
