Casa De Oro — Restaurant in Saint Maries

This use to be one of my favorite local places to eat, but I haven't been there in a long time, since I moved away. Well, today, my boyfriend and I went to try it since he's never been... a nice sunny afternoon, what a great day for lunch? It was us and one other table,in the dining area. The bar had a few people too. Nothing to be considered "busy." Tabitha, our waitress, would have been 0 stars if we could do that! The other table had to get up and ask for drinks.. we had to go request refills for our drinks. When it came time to pay, I gave the other younger waitress my card to run. Some time went by, so I decided to get up to go get my card.... where I find Tabitha on the phone(possibly taking a togo order),but very doubtful since the entire time we were there, they were in the kitchen chichatting with the cook. We were a large party last fall, 10 in all, ranging in age from 9 years to 88 years old. Our wait staff was SO excellent! They went above and beyond - offering a variety of 'extra hot' salsas for all, but especially for my young granddaughter Gabbie, and even accommodating the tiny appetite of our eldest companion. They were friendly, attentive, efficient and gave perfect delivery of everyone's order, including drinks (sodas) and refills of drinks. The food was very good, the perfect amount and modestly priced. Today was my son's 18th birthday and what a mess. It took 15 minutes just to get a drink then 1 hour and 27 minutes to get our food. I watched 2 tables walk out with no food delivered to their tables. They did not check on our table, refill drinks, or bring chips. I had to track down our server and ask for refills. My last 3 visits to Casa has resulted in excessively long wait times and horrible service. I will never return here again!!!! I will drive to cda for a dinner before I ever go back here again!
