One of THE MOST DISAPPOINTING meals I've ever had!
We had to ask for our salads. The Cole slaw was very tasty, but it was at room temperature, so my first bite was my last. I've had food poisoning before and had no desire to repeat it. When we finally got the waitress' attention, she offered to get me a cold one. She came back 5 minutes later and said that they were now out of it.
The sides were barely warm and the mashed potatoes were the consistency of silly putty, so I didn't finish either of those. The server never asked how anything was or refilled a drink. We asked for, and had to wait for, our check. The server said she'd be back to cash us out, but never returned. I had to wait to pay at the register as several employees wandered by. One woman finally stopped on her third trip by and asked if I needed something. When she cashed me out she didn't even bother to ask me how my experience was. I'm not an unreasonable or overly-demanding person. I could understand if the place was busy, but the tables weren't even half full and it looked as though either the owner or manager was drinking at the bar and laughing it up. Ridiculous!
Edit: I appreciate the response. Having been a successful operator in the industry, I know how difficult it is, especially in the current staffing and labor-force environment. There would have been no need to write this review had even one person inquired as to our satisfaction during our visit.
My four highest-priority standards were not met that day: food safety, food quality, guest service, and waiting to pay. All restaurants have bad days. It sounds like you all are trying. I'll try...
Read moreThis is the first time that i have ever been compelled to write a review about a restaurant. Me and my family drove to brockport only to find out that the BP Inn was closed so we decided to go back to st. marys and try the Wildwoods. We arrived to find the parking lot full due to the fact it was sunday and they were having a polka party. I went in to see if it was going to be a long wait and they assured me that most of the people were there for polka and not to eat and it would not be a long wait. After we were seated the waitress came to take our order and seemed completely annoyed that she had to wait on us. Not friendly at all! We had the special which was turkey and potatoes and a burger and fries. My turkey dinner had potatoes that felt like they came straight from the refrigerator and the corn tasted like field corn The burger was so raw that it was still bleeding which is ok for some people but not me. We left most of the 32 dollars worth the food sitting on the table when we left and they never asked if somethimg was wrong. I am not the kind of person to send food back or cause a seen so i did not say anything. Just seemed like they were completely annoyed that they had to wait on us and i was very uncomfortable and will never go back. I hope they improve in the future because st marys does not have an over abundance of...
Read moreAs it all goes, some people have great experiences, some don't. We were there and are was not. I wanted a steak, saw they had hand cut, Angus, prime steaks. Sounds good? Looking at the menu, it was reduced from prime to choice. Considering all things, that wouldn't be bad, but bad it was. I ordered the Wildwood Sirloin figuring it is their signature steak. Some places it was more cooked then others. Till I was done I didn't enjoy it. Wish I went to Hoss's instead. My wife had the pulled pork stacker, it seemed like the pork been reheated a couple times with instant mashed potatoes. The fries were good however. I say this place just needs to stick with what they...
