I want to start off with how beautiful the restaurant is. I love the aesthetic in the restaurant and outside as I love watching the planes. That being said we came here on 5/22 to have lunch with our 2 year old on her birthday and the experience was perfect. The food was phenomenal and the vibes were perfect. Although our server couldnât seem to tell us too much about the food everything was great. So good we wanted to come back yesterday 5/28 for my birthday! A little bummed this time my husband and I brought all four of our kids and we ranted the whole way to the restaurant about how amazing the food is and how theyâre going to be obsessed just to be really disappointed unfortunately. My husband got the 300 burger and he said the burger was really good although he preferred the lunch menu. I had gotten the walleye. The server was so sweet and kind although I did ask if I could swap out the rice or slaw for a different side and she made it seem as if that couldnât be done because it was meant to be plated together. She reassured me I would like it. I was starving so I ate the rice and shared the walleye with my kids. The walleye was quality and was cooked to perfection but I didnât like the slaw at all, the sauce and the rice was eh. My son got the chilled seafood. I wish the server maybe explained the flavors and what not to us. She did make a kind accommodation and had it made with no tomatoes for him but we werenât really told about the flavors or textures of the dish and he ended up hating it he ate the two pieces of shrimp on top and that was it. We set his plate aside and ordered him something else on top of it. My daughter got a Cesar salad. She said it was good a little much for a kid to have to chop considering you chop the salad yourself. Idk all and all the best dish out of all of ours was my 7 year olds chicken tenders. Iâm really bummed as they said they just changed their menu. We were so excited to have my birthday dinner there just to feel like it was money wasted. I will say $140 was around our total for our family of 6 also on top of ordering an extra meal because my son didnât like it. Which I donât feel is bad at all but we sadly probably wonât be back. Which is...
Read moreTo date, we have had three meals at Holmanâs Table, and as dedicated food enthusiasts who dine for the sheer pleasure of exceptional food, we approach new restaurants with high expectations. Iâll admit, I had avoided this spot for years, purely because of its unusual location â nestled within St. Paulâs exclusive airfield, affectionately dubbed âMillionaireâs Fieldâ by locals in the know. Itâs the discreet landing spot of choice for celebrities and executives who prefer to bypass the crowds when visiting the Twin Cities.
What caught my eye was Holmanâs consistently stellar ratings, which are among the highest in St. Paul. Curiosity finally won out, and my wife and I decided to see for ourselves â choosing brunch as our introduction. I assumed the hype was driven by its elite clientele. While that may be partly true, Iâm happy to report that the food and service more than justify the reputation.
I started with the Caesar Salad paired with a glass of Vinum Cellars Spring Street Chardonnay. This was not your typical Caesar â it arrived as an entire organic Romaine heart, halved and perfectly dressed with a lightly creamy Caesar dressing, accompanied by two strips of visually striking pecan-smoked bacon and crowned with a sunny-side-up egg. The composition was both playful and sophisticated â and, more importantly, delicious.
My wife opted for the same Chardonnay alongside the Greek Salad â fitting, as she loves her greens. This rendition was bright and fresh, accented with dehydrated chickpeas that added an unexpected crunch. We are already planning our next visit. She will have it again.
For service, we were fortunate to be looked after by Page, who, despite being new, was attentive and eager to ensure we had everything we needed.
Holmanâs Table is, quite literally, a hidden gem â only nine miles from our doorstep and mere minutes from downtown St. Paul. I did return to Holmanâs in June 2025 and this time they blew my mind. I had the dry aged pork chop. I can still taste it. Arguably the best Iâve ever had. On our list is to return for Happy Hour, it only if that dry aged pork chop is...
Read moreWe were there to celebrate my husband's birthday with some very dear friends. I thought the menu looked great online, so I thought it would be a memorable evening. Well it was.....in the wrong way. Our server seems like we were boring her with a few questions we had since we had never been there before. The dining room was empty for a long time and service was slow. It took her 15 min. to bring a glass of wine. By then, I had almost lost interest as I would have liked it before the meal arrived. She was busy waiting on the outdoor area. Mind you, there were other servers working the outdoors. We dine out alot and do not mind paying high prices for good food. Let's just say the prices should come down considering the lack of taste. My friend is a chef and made a special cake as a gift for my husband's birthday. So, when asked for plates the server said there would be a cutting fee of 10 to 15 dollars. We asked why and she got the manager. When the manager came over, she said that it was health hazard to bring food into the restaurant. So I said that it would be fine to pay the fee. When asked if 10 or 15 she could not answer. She left and came back a few moments later bending over the table giving my friend who made the cake a lecture on not bringing desert into the restaurant. She said it was a health hazard. But she agreed to the "health hazard" when I said I would be just fine with paying the cake cutting fee. This "manager" came to our table with a defensive, rude attitude from the first. If it really is a health issue, why does paying Holman's Table change the health rule!?! It makes no sense. Let me just say the "manager" was lucky I had guests at the table or she would have been the one to get a lecture on how to act like a real manager. To me she is the PR and face of Holman's Table. Needless to say it ruined what could have been a wonderful...
