Stumbled onto this place after having dinner in Antioch this past late December and was pleased with the quality of ice cream here. But then again it is Chocolate Shoppe which is pretty much the very best ice cream coming from America's dairyland. I have a tendency to look where it's at on Google Maps instead of following the map while driving and ended up driving passed it knowing something wasn't right. Saw The Fire Pitt and was thinking maybe it was attached to the restaurant which it was when we got closer. The ice cream is absolutely dee-lish at fair prices with friendly service. We live pretty far east in Lake County in Beach Park but if ever in the area again with that particular craving, we'll definitely stop back in! Hope for continued boomin' business for the owner(s).

After dinner one night, we headed over to "The Ice Box" and got some ice cream. We were all happy with the selection they had to offer. My girlfriend got 2 half scoops on a cone and I got 2 scoops in a cup. The service was VERY friendly and quick. It looked like the owner was moving some sort of equipment into that part of the building for an upcoming line dancing event (which we thought sounded like fun). My only gripe was the claw machine wasn't cooperating with me. I put $2 into the machine and it kept dropping the stuffed toys. ;-)

Staff is always great. They always allow my daughters to try a couple flavors (because they never know what to choose). They've got new flavors depending on the season. I like that they've got a kids scoop because the small is a decent portion and more ice cream than my 7 year...
