I been on the prowl, looking for some good ol BBQ food! I came across this place in my search. I drove some distance but not as far as I normally do to find restaurants/food trucks.
I wanted to try everything on the menu but decided to stick with a few options. I got the combo 1 dinner option. It came with pulled brisket, pulled pork, 3 ribs and a sausage. Then it came with two sides. I chose the Cole slaw and smoked macaroni and cheese for the sides.
The Cole slaw did not have flavor. Macaroni and cheese was good with lots of bacon in it.
I had to get the chorizo and chicken taco's. Chorizo goes good with other meat. I knew it would be spicy since the menu said it would be. It was loaded with onions and cilantro.
Then I got a side of the queso dip and chips.
Pulled pork and brisket was good. I personally preferred the pulled brisket more.
The chicken and chorizo taco was way too spicy. I love spice. But when it over powers where you cant taste flavor and only get the heat, then you can't enjoy both.
Queso dip was pretty good, had a little kick but you still had flavor with it. Our bag of chips was stale. No intentional fault of theirs. It was how the bag was closed with a thin strip. It didn't look right when I went to open it. They were very happy to replace it!
Now let's talk about my favorite thing! Their ribs were the high light of my visit! Absolutely amazing flavor and meat fell off the bone. I only got three with the combo dinner.
I would definitely go back to get their ribs and try other items on the menu. Once you taste the ribs, you definitely want to keep going back! Customer service was...
Read moreI love good smoked bbq. I dropped my ol'lady and her friends off at luke bryon farm tour and I was hungry so I turned to google where I found porters smokehouse.
Walked in and seen 3 teenage girls didn't greet me and I had no clue what to do seen a menu so I grabbed it and started looking at it. The girls still said nothing to me only to themselves so I didnt know if this was a resturant style place where the seat you or order at the counter. I walked up to the counter and waited until they were done talking to themselves and looked at me still not saying anything to me I started my order.
to the food I love bbq this place had some decent bbq wasn't dried out had lots of smoke flavor, but I dont know what wood they used or how they smoked it but it wasnt cherry or hickory almost tasted like oak which I personally dont like oak smoke and it had a slight dirty smoke flavor. They shredded the brisket for some reason instead of slices which i didn't like. The Seasoning was on point the bbq sauce was very good.
I still gave it a 4 star because the smoke flavor and meat prep was just my personal taste and preference and everyone has their own palette. Aside from the 3 girls up front it was a good experience.
And I didn't any utensils for my...
Read moreOrdered online not knowing what to expect. Thought it was a 5 minute drive to Dorr — ended up being 20 😂🤦🏽♀️ It’s a little tricky to find, and sits in a kinda unexpected location. But this place is ON TOP OF EVERYTHING! Placing an order online was a breeze. Whoever answers the phones was super professional, friendly and efficient. They answered all my questions AND patiently gave me directions 🙂 That alone was pretty impressive! The drive through service was just as amazing. As busy as this place was, they somehow had everyone in and out of line in a matter of minutes. The food was so hot and fresh, it was still steaming when I got home. Mind you — I was 20 minutes late picking it up!
Food wise — I was supposed to share tacos with my teenagers, but ended up sharing my husband’s meat plate and loading up on the awesome sides! Portion sizes were great too — we had lots of yummy leftovers to enjoy the next day. It was the best local “carry out” meal we’ve had in a while! Especially post-COVID craziness.
Everything was amazing, but tbh I can’t stop thinking about that brat and...
