Nices Family Diner — Restaurant in Salem

I got the dbl cheese burger and fries ..one would ask how hard is it to make a good burger? For most of the restaurants I've ate at it's pretty darn hard. When we first walked into this restaurant we were greeted and seated immediately. It was lunchtime and was busy. Our server could not have been more nice and helpful. The food came out fresh hot and surpassed my expectations. Large portions very cheap. This burger was cooked to perfection, the cheese was melted and the split tip bun was toasted. The meal included the burger and fries for 8.99. The dressed burger was really big. It was hand patted, the taste and texture was perfectly seasoned. They kept it simple...not a meatloaf style burger...it was as it should be, perfect...this burger alone is worth at least 12.00 any where else. We took my uncle to eat a few weeks ago after taking him to an appointment. My uncle has cerebral palsy he can't walk , talk or anything really, he's like a baby just adult size. We picked Nice's because of the variety of food he could eat, he can only have puree or very soft mashed foods. He doesn't have a normal wheelchair im not sure what it's called. But, we moved a couple of chairs and made room for him at a table. The staff was friendly no awkward stares or anything ,my uncle enjoyed his food . It was easy getting his chair in also.The customers stared some but all in all it was a good experience. I wanted to do something nice for my uncle he's had a rough year. His caretakers passed away the beginning of this year and was placed in a nursing home. There's been a lot of changes for him . We went for breakfast again this morning. We get the same thing everytime. Has always been good, but this morning I has some kind of string of plastic in my hashbrowns. When I told the waitress, not Shannon the other one, she tried to say it was strings from the eggs. When I told her it was in the hashbrowns it was streachy and she started to argue with me it was from eggs. Owner wanted to make eggs and hashbrowns again after we were done eating.
