Sabor El Rey — Restaurant in Salem

My husband and I have been there 2 times both times during the week [last time was Monday, June 03) and each time it took FOREVER to get our food because there was only 1 cook and 1 server so by the time our food got to us parts of it was cold. We can understand it being slow when they are crowded but with only 3 or 4 tables and less then a dozen people there waiting? I was watching and the food was only coming out 1 plate at a time because I'm guessing whomever was cooking didn't know how to multi-task.. We've decided we're just going to go to Ash Flat to El Palenque or El Chico when we're in Mtn. Home. We like to shop local but not eating here...

I went here on 10-12-2025 and they served watery salsa that was hot and not mild. I asked for more salsa, thicker & not as hot and the waitress was unfriendly and unhelpful, just making excuses. The portion of food I received was very small, again i just asked the waitress if they could add a little more or bring just a little more rice and she said no. I was very friendly and polite asking, I even asked the manager at the desk and he told me if I was unhappy with the small portion I could leave or order more food, he didn't bother to look at the...

Waitress was very rude, even slammed a glass of hot water down on the table in front of me and that’s after telling me it’s over 200 degrees. There was 6 of us and only one person was satisfied with her food but it was nachos so it was smothered in cheese. The rest of us, the meat was very dry, beans were so dry they looked as if they had sat in the oven for hours.
