This place has the potential to be a 5 star restaurant when they learn how to treat the public. They are greedy, rolling over tables in under an hour is the goal of this somewhat pricey place. We arrived at the restaurant and ordered soup, salad appetizer and dinner. We were at the restaurant for 40 minutes when we asked for the dessert menu and we asked about the different desserts. The waitress went over the menu including the hot chocolate cake that we had asked about and told us we wouldn’t have time for the 15 minute wait for the hot dessert because they were going to need to roll over the table . This is not McDonald’s this is not Friendly’s, this is supposed to be a classy restaurant serving five star food but wanting to turn over tables like a fast food restaurant. We did not order any dessert so the restaurant lost three dessert and coffee orders. We are certain that the restaurant does not care because they are extremely busy and pretentious. My hope is more people will put reviews like this so they will have to change their attitude. If you enjoy service such as the soup Nazi from Seinfeld this is the place for you. Amazing food with rude service. There are other reviews on here speaking of the person that answers the phone which I assume is the owner or the manager who walked around the restaurant with his phone, answering calls. When we made our reservation he was not warm and welcoming that should’ve been the first clue. When we arrived he sort of held the door for us and didn’t care to say goodbye as we were leaving. We live on Long Island and we have dined across Long Island, throughout Manhattan and all of the tri-state area. We travel frequently and enjoy finding the best foods available...
Read moreI read a lot of reviews about the hostess/manager and how rude they are if you are not a regular. We live forty minutes away and have enjoyed our meals there in the past. The hostess at first could not find our reservation, then somewhat rudely she finally figured it out. After a great meal we are handed our bill. The hostess picked up our cards. Last week I looked at our statement and there was a difference in what we were charged and what our bill stated. I called and asked for the "manager" to explain this to me. I was told she wasn't on the premises. I left a message with said hostess. The manager called me back within a minute, it's a very noisy restaurant type of noise. The first lie... Right off the bat the "manager" was confrontational, combative, not giving me a chance to talk. She could not offer a explanation that made sense to me. Believe me I would not have gone to this effort for this amount of money if I would have been treated differently. I do not like being yelled at for any reason. The way she treated me made me very angry. If she is in that position she needs to look for a different line of work. We are not happy about this at all. We would like to continue going there. The food is really good but the manager and the hostess need some customer relations training. This was a small sum of money we are talking about. If you visit this establishment check your credit card statement. We will never go back. This was a big occasion for us and we are both...
Read moreThis was my second visit. It was my first time at the bar. It was very nice. The salmon was awesome. We all enjoyed our meals. However, the service was odd. We had a 830 reservation on a Sunday night because that was all that was available. We had not seen our friends in almost 4 yrs. So we met here. My friend told the waitress that she remembered her from over 3 years ago when my friend used to go there more often. She did not seem happy or impressed to make the connection. It took use a while to decide. My friend had questions about the sushi. The waitress said, "no sushi on sundays," seemly annoyed . Not apologetic. Again, my friend asked, "what about ..." I forget but it was sushi related. She Said, "no sushi on sundays" 2 more times. So odd. We ordered apps... after dinner, when we declined dessert, she asked if she could get us anything else. My friend voiced that we never received bread. The waitress' face dropped. She asked if we wanted bread. Yes! So she brought us bread and the checks. Our interactions with the waitress were super awkward, and we dropped a nice chunk of change. I was excited to see my friend and I had only been to Woodland one other time. That time the service and the food was spectacular. A bit disappointed, but I will give it...
