Went to dine in on a quiet Tuesday evening at 6:30pm. About 10 patrons in the venue. We were quickly greeted by a server and told to sit “anywhere.” We chose one of the booths. That was where the service stopped.
Eventually we were approached by a server who brought us menus. We ordered a wine and a beer, but he had no idea as to the tap list. Eventually I had to walk up and talk to someone who knew the tap contents.
We ordered two starters - naked wings (delivered after about 15 minutes), and the pizza bites. Wings were oven baked, and marginal, at best. Good value, though.
The pizza bites with the garlic butter sauce were very good, but the “homemade” red sauce was served cold! We asked for it to be heated up, and after 10 minutes, still came back tepid. We were finally told the restaurant does not have a microwave, and the sauce had to be tun through the pizza oven. By then, the pizza bites were cold.
Saw a number of patrons having to get up and grab their own napkins or place settings. Where is the service? All were in the back of house!
The calzone we ordered was finally delivered, but with buffalo wing sauce, instead of the cold red sauce. After taking the calzone home, found it to be flavorful, after a rewarm.
Bottom line: Service was very poor. Maybe it could be better on a crowded night. Food is pretty good, but service just brings the experience down. A big downer!
P.S. I ran 14 high end restaurants, and as a neighbor, would be happy to offer this establishment gratis advice on how to make it an east...
Read moreWe’d never been before the but the food photos on their site and proximity to Big Block Brewing made it a no brainer. While we were inside ordering Take Out, the vibe is definitely something we’d come back to. Server waking past said hi and the person at the window was warm friendly and they even accepted CASH!! We ordered, waited 25 mins and picked it up, brought it back to our bomb pineapple seltzers at Big Block. Opened the box and it looked so good I forgot to take a picture until the last slice. 4 slices of pepperoni, black olive and sausage was DEFINITELY enough for 2 (me + sizable husband 🙂). Ratios of ingredients were spot on and the dough had a garlic butter glaze/cooked perfectly. Came with 2 ranches and a red sauce. Glad we didn’t get the garlic knots on top of it (they look like the ones from carb dreams) because it would have been way too much. Would...
Read moreMy wife and I are split on Jobo's, but I think I'm bringing her around. I really like the level of creativity they put into their toppings. It's not totally off-the-wall stuff, but it's well arranged. For instance, I really like the Beaver Lake. The sauce is rich and complex, and the banana peppers add a bright acidic note. It doesn't skimp on all the good salty cheesy flavors you want in pizza either. There's another pizza that comes with apple slices. I really like this pizza, but it's a bridge too far for my wife.
All in all, I think this pizza is a step up from Pagliacci. But I've also had slightly higher quality pie, especially the crust. For that reason, I'm knocking a star off. But you should still go. It's a local place, it seems well run, and when was the last time you...
