+50 Mexican restaurants in San Angelo and we chose one of the worst. 1.5 hours of being in the restaurant only to be served half tostada shells with ranch(white sauce) and bland salsa you could make at home by opening a can of tomato purée and pouring it straight in your mouth. The chili relleno was fine. The chimichanga was mostly decent, aside from a few pieces of ground beef being undercooked and therefore inedible. Our waitress tried her absolute best but management must really dislike their team for putting one person in charge of an entire room. Also, avoid the bathroom at all costs. The woman’s room doesn’t have a baby changing table(oh well) and it DIDNT HAVE STALL DOORS!? Just a sheet between someone washing their hands and another experiencing the perils of subpar Mexican food exiting their system.
We went to their previous location a few years ago and looked forward to trying the new spot. Wish I could go back in time and undo this...
Read moreFrom the time that we were seated until they brought our drinks was about 15 minutes. Then after drinks finally arrive the waitress doesn't offer to take our order. It's another five minutes before she returns. There are only two other parties in the entire restaurant mind you. A review we read said they have the best chips and salsa in town....wrong. I've had better out of a jar. The sweet tea tasted a day old. We asked about how a dish was prepared as we ordered and the waitress really had no clue. What she ended up describing was opposite of how it was prepared. The food overall was a little above average but the service was so slow that it was not a very good dining experience. We just moved here and we will never return to this place and will not recommend it. Also, for my family of four ordering two entrees and one kids meal, we paid $45! A bit pricey for poor...
Read moreWe just stopped at Gil's on a whim. When we walked in, there was a guy standing at the cash register. He looked at us, said nothing, and left. It was a couple of minutes before anyone came to take us to a table. Then we waited with no drinks, for another couple of minutes. They were two strikes down from the beginning, and we didn't have water. Then the waitress came by, took our drink orders, and promptly delivered them. We ordered, and then ate. My order was not correct, but was quickly corrected. I had the chicken fajitas ranchero. The menu said (HOT), but it was only mildly spicy. However, the chicken was tender, then beans delicious, and the rice was good. The salsa was quite spicy, and the chips were good. I have to give the food a very good, but they need to think about the initial impression they give customers...
