This is hands down the BEST Mexican food in the San Antonio area. I will drive here from now on for the food. I had a strawberry margarita that was phenomenal. Not too sweet and the right amount of alcohol. The fajitas were so good. I got all chicken but my friend got the mix of beef and chicken. They were seasoned perfectly. The beef was not at all fatty and was good quality beef. You have a choice of beans to have with the meal, corn or flour tortillas, you get rice, pico, guac. The waitress, who was attentive and very knowledgeable recommended it to us for lunch and I am so glad she did. Everything on the menu sounded good so it was hard to choose. I am so particular when it comes to good Mexican food and this place will not disappoint. The chips are light, warm and crispy. The salsa is delicious too. Atmosphere is nice for a casual lunch or it’s a great date night spot. Margaritas were about $9 and lunch specials around $12-$15.

I'm a tough critic. Being a culinary chef makes for a different expectation, but THIS PLACE SOARED BEYOND. New to the area, my husband and I have struggled to find good food... Especially considering we're vegan. We do have a shrimp day about once a month, so of course we never want that opportunity to be in vain. We ordered carry-out yesterday and starting with the phone call, the professionalism was impeccable. My husband even mentioned the immense level of customer service upon arrival. Once he returned home, I rushed to see the presentation and of course, taste the quality of the food!!! This is hands down the best I've had since we moved to San Antonio. High end seafood restaurants don't even match up! Huge shrimp, perfect texture, perfect seasoning. PHENOMENAL JOB GUYS! YOU'VE EARNED A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE!!! Thank you for setting the standard for Mexican Cuisine and for hardworking staff. It shows!!!

Great place! I usually don’t like fajitas bc places usually give too much vegetables and too little meat. However, they made the fajita great. The food was delicious. The steak, chicken and shrimp were super tender and not chewy at all. Also, we can choose between a half pound and 1 pound of meat (chicken, steak, and shrimp). Hector was our server, and he was super nice. He actually gave us the suggestion to order a fajita meal. Great recommendation! My husband also ordered a chimichanga and chose the steak for the meat with Hector’s suggestion. It was super delicious. Overall, this place was a great place to enjoy our date night. Everyone was super friendly, the food was great, and the atmosphere was relaxing.

We arrived as a group of 6 for a slightly early supper. Our party included my 3 year old. We had no problem getting seated immediately and comfortably, and they did have a booster seat for the little guy. Our waiter remained attentive and completely in tune with our needs the entire time, ensuring I never set down an empty glass, and I was thirsty. He seemed very confident in what he was doing. My family can be particular; it's common for our wait staff to be faced with, "What do you recommend?" "Can you tell me the specials again?" "What's in that, how is it prepared?" "Absolutely NO onions or garlic, please!" Our waiter said to more than one of us, "Okay, I know just what you'll like. You'll like it." I was skeptical. I ordered cheese enchiladas but with the tomatillo green sauce, a special request. My son's dinner arrived quickly, before the others (which parents can appreciate), and I was pleasantly surprised when everyone else's arrived not long after and every dish was genuinely enjoyed by each, no onions, no fuss! Mine was perfect. I also recommend their sopapillas, they were hot and soft with honey and cinnamon, and be prepared to share and bring some home. They do come with walnuts on them, for those who don't care for nuts in their desserts. Overall it was an entirely positive experience, not crowded at all perhaps due to the earlier dining time, wait staff excelled beyond expectations, food was hot...

Papa nachos continues to be our favorite Mexican food restaurant in San Antonio, and we have tried many in the 20 years we've lived here. Right when you arrive, baskets of thin chips up here at the table with some excellent salsa. Really the chips and salsa are one of the reasons we love this restaurant. Thin crispy tortilla chips and fresh salsa that doesn't seem thick or heavy or cooked is exactly what we're looking for. The biggest challenge is not eating two baskets of chips before your food comes and spoiling your appetite.

I always get the cheese enchiladas with chili con carne, which is unusual for me because every place else I go I'm always looking to try something new every time I go. To me, the cheese enchiladas are perfection. My wife enjoys the salads here, my teenage sons like the fajitas, the puffy tacos, and the crispy tacos, and my two younger children enjoy the chicken fingers and fries or the mac and cheese.

Service here is almost always very quick, even if you have a family of 7 and get a server in training like we did this last visit. I enjoy running into several people we know almost every time we come here, which is usually Sundays for lunch. We also like that they have a bowl of cheap mints, some of which are chocolate mints, on...

I love coming to this little hole in the wall restaurant. It’s never super busy so we can always get in and the staff has always been nice. Their salsa is off the hook. It’s by far better than a lot of them other Mexican restaurants in town. My boyfriend and I always get the same thing. He gets the chipotle enchiladas which are really good, and I get the chicken quesadillas or the queso flameado. I was looking for this queso since I went to Mexico, and I found it here and by far the best one I tried in town until the last time I went it has been great. 100 times in a row and last time I went there was something different about it. There was like chunks of onion in it. Normally, I can’t taste the onion and it wasn’t as flavorful or as greasy as it usually is, and I questioned it because I would like to say I am a connoisseur of this dish being that I eat it, all the time. The waiter said that it just depends on who’s cooking it so hopefully next time I go it will be up to par. The quesadillas are really good as well. You get a ton of food for the price. I would highly recommend this place if you want some good...
