Skinny Black BBQ and More — Restaurant in San Antonio

If I could rate this place 0 stars I would! To say this place was an absolute disgrace is the least! I placed an order for sausage, ribs, brisket, a chicken sandwich, yams, greens, and potato salad. Spent $140 dollars and this food tastes like trash and can’t even bite through the sausage. The guy even came out an apologized in advance for the brisket and blamed it on his uncle! like whyyy even serve this food to someone… I placed this order to go at 630 via telephone the lady said it would take 30 minutes… I arrived by 7:30 I gave extra time because it’s bbq… I didn’t even get the food till after 9pm… yet I kept hearing the microwave beep time and time again.. I should have known but I support black establishments and gave them the benefit of the doubt… I will never ever be back! $140 wasted on this place. Do yourself a favor and stay away from here! And don’t even try to get an itemized receipt if you do go! I added flash to the picture so you can see...

Drove from SEA WORLD area to give this place a try and it was amazing. The food and portions were worth the drive. I ordered a three meat place brisket, sausage, and chicken, Mac, and beans. The brisket was so tender it fell apart as you ate it. The chicken was so moist and cooked to perfection; the chicken just fell off the bone. The sausage was amazing and the food had such a great smoke taste to it. The Mac was fresh and chess just enough and the beans were icing on the cake. The mixture of beans and meat makes it a meal in itself. I have had many opportunities to travel and try many restaurants and this has to be one of my favorite top bar-b-que restaurants. The portions are enough for left over and the price is just right for the quality and quantity of food you get. I would DEFINIETLY brag and refer friends to this...

The spot is in a rough looking neighbourhood but the moment we pulled up on the parking on the front a friendly apron wearing man(aka the cook) greeted us, explaining the options we had to order. We ordered the brisket, chicken, ribs and various sides. The brisket was TOP TIER, moist and tender, the chicken juicy and falling off the bone🤤 10/10, the loaded potatoes were also incredible. Highly recommend the spot but just as a heads up it only has like 2 tables so dining in, although it is an option, is not what the spot is made for. Takeaway, of course, is the way to go (that’s what we did).
