We were disappointed in our first visit here. It used to be Hops and Hounds (so we had our furr babies) and recently became Tommy John's Tailgate. It looked like staff was still working on a few things. Atmosphere was nice! Outside they had a couple pickle ball courts, more dining tables, kids playground and a stage for live music. Indoors looks nicer than previously. They opened up the upstairs level for additional dining and multiple tvs for sports. Very nice improvements! Service and food was another story. Our server was timid yet nice but she did not get our order correct. My fiance ordered the Hot Dog with Onion Rings and what he received was a cold hot dog with FRIES. I ordered the Chicken Cesar wrap but it seemed more like a cesar lettuce wrap. I also ordered a non seasoned chicken breast for our furr babies that we never received. I reminded her multiple times of the chicken breast and 1 hour and a half later we finally received it with fries! Not a good first experience. We may try again after it's been opened for a few more months. This place may be a good place to hang out indoors or outdoors to see a game, have a few drinks, and listen to music. And this place is pet friendly.

Tommy John’s Tailgate has quickly become one of our favorite partner venues! We’re thrilled to work with them to bring our pickleball and cornhole leagues to life. This spot is an absolute gem, whether you’re looking to catch the big game or host a group gathering. With plenty of big-screen TVs both inside the bar area and outside on the patio, there’s not a bad seat in the house. The multilevel layout is perfect for group events and offers a great view of the pickleball action. As for the food—it’s incredible! We’ve utilized their catering menu for our group parties and were impressed by the variety of options at a great price. The gourmet hamburgers were a huge hit with our group. A special shoutout to Morgan and Eric, who have gone above and beyond to make sure we have everything we need for an amazing experience. Tommy John’s Tailgate is a must-visit, and we highly recommend it for your next outing, whether it’s for leagues, parties, or just a fun night out!

I was really looking forward to visiting Tommy John’s Tailgate, especially after having a great initial experience with our server, Bella. Unfortunately, things took a turn when we wanted to change tables. Although Bella was more than willing to continue serving us, the manager, Eric and another manager insisted that she couldn’t, and instead had the bartender, Allison, take over. This entire situation was uncomfortable, and we expressed our feelings to the manager, noting how accommodating Bella had been. Despite our request for her to continue as our server, they chose to keep Allison. We ended up waiting a while to order wings and drinks, and our table was left with dirty plates until we finally complained. What was most upsetting was that they decided to send Bella home. Overall, this was a horrible experience for us, and it really diminished the excitement we had for our visit. I won’t be returning to this establishment.

I really wanted to like this place as it is very close to where I live and I love to support local restaurants. However, I was extremely disappointed in my visit there. I don’t normally write reviews, but this place left a bad taste in my mouth. Let’s start off with the good stuff: The atmosphere: plenty of nice outdoor seating with corn hole and pickleball. Truly a fun little hang out spot!

The bad: Everything else unfortunately. After we sat down we waited 15 minutes just for someone to greet us. My husband and I had agreed if someone didn’t take our order by 7pm, then we would leave, but our waiter showed up to our table right at 7. Yay! We both ordered one beer each as well as two waters. Water was the first thing to be brought back and that took 5 minutes. We kept looking around thinking the beer shouldn’t be too much longer. Well the beer ended up taking 20 minutes just to come out. Now I completely understand that things get busy, kegs need to be replaced, or stuff happens, but gosh two beers shouldn’t take that long! And if they do take that long, I’m usually quick to apologize if I’m in the waiter’s shoes. We were there on a Friday night, but it wasn’t incredibly busy. The waiter had no remorse for how long it took. Because we didn’t want to wait another 15-20 minutes to pay we asked to pay immediately after getting our drinks. The two beers cost $19! Probably the most expensive beers I’ve seen since moving to San Antonio.

Also, live music is promised on Friday and Saturday nights, but there was no live music to be had. So just another reason why I was bummed about this visit.

TL;DR: didn’t have a great experience with long wait times and...

I recently had the pleasure of being served by Jayda while enjoying an NFL football game, and I must say, her bartending skills were nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we sat down, Jayda was incredibly attentive and seemed to anticipate our needs before we even had to ask. Her friendly demeanor and professionalism created a welcoming atmosphere that made the experience all the more enjoyable for both me and my girlfriend at the time.

Jayda’s ability to balance efficiency and a personal touch was impressive. She made sure our drinks were perfectly crafted and always kept them refreshed without us having to flag her down. Despite the busy environment, she managed to check in on us frequently, ensuring we were comfortable and had everything we needed to enjoy the game.

What truly stood out was Jayda’s awareness and attention to detail. She remembered our drink preferences after just one order and even recommended some excellent appetizers that paired perfectly with our cocktails. Her energy and enthusiasm added to the excitement of the game, making it a memorable experience.

Jayda is a true professional who goes above and beyond for her customers. I can’t recommend her bartending services enough and will definitely be returning for more of her exceptional service...
